15 Subaru Outback - Todays Clean Up

2015 Subaru Outback Premium 2.5

Traded off my 2011 Outback back in July and picked this up as my daily driver.

Averaging 28mpg on my commutes to work.

Sorry no before pics.

I was able to get the first 15 Outback off the truck in my area and made sure the dealer's lot jockeys kept there hands off of it. (success !!)

The paint was in great condition.

Upon delivery I used the following products in prep for the coating of choice.

Products used:

Nanoskin AutoScrub Medium Grade Wash Mitt

Griots Paint Prep

HD Polish / Chemical Guys Hex Logic Blue pad

Multiple IP wipedowns

Eco-Touch Tire Shine

Opti-Coat 2.0 on all paint, chrome, headlights, taillights, and lower black trim.

I plan on coating the rims at some point before winter.(temporarily wearing a coat of FK1)

Fast forward to today and 3700 miles later. Temp was 80 and humid. Turned on some 70s music and went to work.

I had to give the car a wash to remove a week's worth of bug kills and multiple trips to the in laws who live on a 2.5 miles stretch of gravel road.

(I hate gravel roads)

Glass/door jam's got an ONR wipe down mixed at QD strength and tires got scrubbed with Zep Orange Citrus APC 4/1 ratio and a coat of EcoTouch Tire Shine. The EcoTouch is holding up to well. Getting 3-4 weeks out of it.

The black roof rack which is plastic/rubber was given a coat of CQ DLUX as well. I've had it awhile and finally got around to applying it.

Decided to share some pics since it was looking good. The pics don't really show the metallic flake.

Very Nice  :D   Is that the Tungsten color?  Those look VERY nice in person....

I was torn between silver, tungsten, and white.

How do you like it so far?

I think it is def a step up in quality vs my 2011.

I'm really liking the stereo integration options with phone, usb, and streaming music.

Yes, Tungsten. The "silver" looked more light blue, so that was out, the white was a little too white so we decided to go with this color. Love it! The difference between this year and the previous model (test drove it a bunch of times) is day and night. The engine noise is gone, the interior looks way more upscale, the seats are perfect, and the audio integration is indeed great. What a car!

Yes. It did look silver blue-ish at first and in pictures. I was worried about that. But once I polished it and Opticoated it. It looks very close to the same silver as my previous Outback. Maybe its the lighting ? I do think when its overcast and the car is dirty, it took on that blue ish tint at times. ??

We looked at the "silver" several times at different times of the day and just didn't do it for us.
