'14 F-350 exterior + interior

Client owns a hunting supply company and even though the F-350 had 5K showing on the odometer... it was trashed due to many weekends of hunting earlier in the year... and while all the seasons have pretty much expired until next fall, the owner still takes his truck up and down brush covered fire roads so he can run his dogs to keep them in shape.

The truck was a bit dirty upon arrival but I could absolutely tell that underneath all that filth were scratches.  I strongly recommended a PPF or a wrap (3 times to be exact) but he wanted to soldier on with O.C. 2.0.  I told him in a resolute manner... 'No coating is going to hold up to what you are putting this truck through... but I will do as you wish.'

Some 50/50's-

After completing some test spots and seeing the results, I called the customer to notify him that it was not worth the clear coat in going after even 90% of the stuff...  some defects were very deep.  After all the truck is 'new-er' and it was probably going to come back to me in the same condition (probably will be worse) than it is/was.  5,000 miles and this much damage... not good.  I also made sure that he knew that I would feel comfortable compounding the truck possibly one more time and that was it.  There is just only so much clear coat to safely deal with on newer cars/trucks.

(No clue what that white stuff is in the perforated leather... steam, brushes... nothing would touch it.  Anyone have a clue on how to 'poke' stuff out of this leather?)

Beeing (ha!)that it is spring in the Pac. NW (finally!)  the BUGS WERE OUT!

(Watched this spider stalk a flying ant for 5 minutes... it was pretty amusing.  Or I am short on the entertainment this world offers, lol.)

(Made the mistake of leaving my garage door open with the lights on while I was eating dinner.  This picture was right after my final IPA wipedown before coating.  I was pretty mad at myself.  Had to clean all the bugs off and another IPA wipe.)

(Was trying like made to get a sun shot... I even called a fellow detailer but the high-over, shortly after noon sun wasn't really cooperating with me... NOTICE the bee flying in the shot!  And yes, I'm laying on the ground.)

By the way... Does anyone know how to tackle this inner fender liner 'fabric' that Ford is now installing on 3/4 ton trucks?  It's a real night mare... it grabs any kind of grass or twigs and acts like velcro.  I imagine steam would be the best bet here... but I didn't attempt.

Thank you for reading and hope everyone is enjoying their detailing season!  Criticism is welcome!

Very nice result on a totally trashed truck. The owner must be happy. It's exremely difficult to get that mud residue totally off the underside and grainy vinyl.
