14 Camaro Engine Detail

A guy in my apartment complex stopped me while dressing my tires, and asked me to detail his Camaro. It has 2500 miles, in great shape, just minor swirls.

He wants the engine compartment detailed. Is there anything out of the norm to cover up, besides the alternator and battery?

With only 2500 miles, I'm guessing the engine isn't too dirty. I would cover any wire harnesses or fuse blocks with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and use a light mist setting on your hose. Or just use a waterless wash in a spray bottle. Just don't blast anything with a strong stream of water.

What do you plan on dressing the black plastic and rubber with? I've had great, long lasting results with CarPro PERL. Sonus Trim & Motor Kote is another popular option.

Finally, I like to protect any painted surfaces under the hood with a sealant. I usually use Opti-Seal since it's quick and easy to apply.

just did my 2014 Camaro with 4000 miles and it Barley needed a water-less wash and just dress all the hoses and plastics and rubber seals. Car almost never sees the rain and live's in a garage. Should be a piece cake or a cup cake for Ron.

I will dress with opti-bond applied via paint gun. I will hit the painted areas with aquawax.

I thought of using waterless after using an air compressor to blow it out. Will it get to all those nooks and crannies without taking up too much time?

Thanks guys, but that detail is long gone.

I even forgot what I actually did with it.

Here it is:
