1000P over NuFinish? or other?

Going out to my mother-in-law's this weekend. I need to add more wax/protectant on her 93 Accord. In July I put on a coat of NuFinish (what I had on hand). She lives in central Penna., mountain winter weather ahead. I have 1000P, Collinite 476 and DWG on hand. My plan is/was to put on two coats of 1000P, but not sure about whether that will work over the NuFinish. I e-mailed the FK guys, they weren't sure if it would work. What do you all think?

I can put on a layer of 476 then add the 1000P, or just go with several layers of 476, which worked well for me last winter on our own car.

IMO most/all of the nufinish from July is gone

any combo of the 476 & 1000p should be fine

but I would use an AIO first just to make sure every thing bonds

Id go w/ a couple layers of 476, it lasts a long time

Eh, NuFinish is not great but it's ok and has it's uses. I used to use it when I was professionally detailing someone's car and all they wanted was to "make it shine" because their paint was heavily oxidized and I didn't want to waste any polishes and lsp's cause they were selling the car, and even if I did try multi step polishing the results wouldn't be perfect it anyway. So living with a NuFinish was usually all they could do. Spending 200 on a detail to increase the price of a 2000 beater to maybe 2500 isn't usually a great thing to do. So I'd usually charge 100 to do a quick polish with rocks in a bottle nufinish and be done with it. And it'll still look like a 2500 car.

Just use a paint cleaner and then use whatever you like. No bonding issues.:closed:
