Hey all,

I'm new to the site and I can't get away from it! So much valuable information...and from what I've been reading, everyone is so helpful!

Heres the deal: I have $1000 to spend on anything, but I'm moslty looking for just product, just not sure what do buy. If I could buy everything, I would, but thats not the case! I have your basic detailing equiptment: Gilmore Foam Gun, 2 bucket system, Hawk Extractor, Makita Rotary. I know everyone is going to say, its personal preference on what products to use and I've done my fair share of "testing" with some of my friends products.

I'm very interested in Poorboys SSR1,2,3, Nattys Blue, Pinnacle S, P21s, Klasse to name a few.

What products would you spend it on and why??

Thanks in Advanced!

If you got $1000 to spend. I would DEF. not buy SSR's line up. I would get Menzerna SIP & 106ff. They are awesome and very versatile.

If interested in PB 2.5 I have an almost full bottle of it that I would sell for $8.00 plus whatever shipping would be (should be about $5.00).

Carpet Dying System, I havent really looked too far into those, not sure how much I would actually be doing of dying carpets, but on the other hand, Paint Thickness Guage is defiantly on my list.

Any Meguires stuff?? i see that in alot of peoples inventories...?

Here's the list I personally recommend. I'm not saying you should buy it, but it's a very good start( I will give some links to clearance items from danase.com as well from autogeek):

Car soap:

Optimum Car Wash

DP Auto Bath Shampoo - car wash

Danase Gloss Amplifying Shampoo

Clay: The best bang for the buck is on AutoZone: $10.00 will buy you a 100gm clay and lube. Can't beat that!

Polisher:

definitely, the UDM with some CCS pads

The Ultimate Detailing Machine

Lake Country Manufacturing CCS Pads

The Edge 2000 6" DA Double Sided Pads

Polishes(I personally recommend the Optimum line)

Danase Swirl Abolisher Package

Optimum Polish/Compound Package

Pinnacle XMT Intermediate Swirl Remover Intro Kit

Sealants:

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection

Four Star Professional 4-54 Polymer Paint Sealant

Danase Paint Sealant

Opti-Seal by Optimum

Waxes: Now in here is kinda tricky. The reason is because there are a ton of waxes in the market, and each and every one of them has excelllent reviews. Some will work for you, some might not. In here, you can choose what you please, as I personally think it will be a trial phase in what works best in your situation.

Microfiber towels:

There's lot of optiones here, and the most frequently mentiones are:

Cobra from AG

Pakshak

Excel

Danase

Also, make sure to get a grit guard, a mitt(can be sheepskin or a shMitt or LC Utili-mitt.

Hope I was able to help rather than making the decision more dificult.

Joey

It sounds like you already have the correct equipment. In that case, I would spend ~$200 on detailing supplies, and keep the rest in the bank. Unless you will always be independantly wealthy, why blow it all at once?

Haha, well I always budget higher than I want, just in case...but I dont plan on spend all $1000 at once, or on all product, cause I could probably by one of everything that everyone recommends!!

Bigfoot: Much appreciated for the list and the links!! More people need to be like you!!

Thanks again!

just curious are you going to be just working on your own cars or are you starting a buisness? my suggestion is to read and reread bigfoots thread, pretty much nails all the good products. the only thing i would add is poorboys exp sealant, clearkote quickshine for a qd, and poorboys bold n bright for a dressing. good luck!!

Agree! If you are doing just your cars, what I gave you is good. But if you are going to put this into a business, might want to increase the sizes of the products ordered.

It would be so easy to burn a grand. I would probably go with a UDM, Makita Rotary, wet/dry vac, some pads, backing plates, Menzerna polishes, Klasse AIO, Collinite 845/476, Pinnacle Souveran, 303 Protectant. Then add some other odds n' ends like tire dressing, leather care, brushes, mitts, buckets, and lots of microfibers. That would probably take care of that grand.

Myself, since I have some of those items I would spend it on the Makita, a nice cabinet, a power washer, Souveran, more towels, and probably some other waxes to round it out.

Great thing is that I already have a Makita, and thats what I started with and learned with. Never used a PC or UDM, but i think those are easier to use right off the start. I have the wet/dry vac, so were good there.

Ive heard mixed things abotu Klasse, but then again, ive heard mixed things about every product reviewed...

but all this information is great and I would be doing business, not just my own cars...

If I had a $1000 to spend-

Entire menzerna line of polishes

Entire Zaino lineup

Entire Ultima lineup

Then I'd do some serious product testing.

And add every single CG product and you've got everything you need.

Just on Autogeek, looking at Menzerna products and they sell kits with the UDM, shall I stay with the rotory, or try a random orbital?? I know the UDM is a safer route as well...

250.00 isn't bad, are there any coupons or deals through autogeek??
