'08 Mitsubishi Lancer

We have had this car for about 3 months. We did not have the dealer detail it when we bought it, but it appears as though it was washed (incorrectly) a couple of times while it was on their lot before we bought it. The rear spoiler is a custom spoiler, and the shop managed to instill a few swirls in the trunk lid while installing it.

I washed the car with QEW, used the white Meguiar's clay. I followed this with Meguiar's 80, via the PC with a Meguiar's yellow pad. The LSP I went with was Meguiar's M98 (2 coats). The 98 was discontinued a while back, but I found 3 bottles at my local Carquest, so I bought all 3 of them. I really like the finish and look the 98 gives. My local Carquest also carries Hollander brand detailing products. I used the Hollander Cyclone APC, Cyclone glass cleaner, and Onyx Tire Shine - I really like these Hollander products.

Here are the pics - no befores, as there were only a few light swirls and scratches.

This is the custom spoiler we had installed - It was a lot smaller than the factory option

first off all, great job on the detail, never seen a clean desert sand lancer before

btw i hope you didn't pay a lot of money for that spoiler because that spoilers are for the 2004-2006 lancers

i know this because i own a 2004 lancer ralliart

I like that spoiler a lot better than the OEM one and your cars paint looks great. I hate when people work on cars and you see the little swirls/scratches the induced.

The spoiler is actually made for the '08, by an aftermarket company that makes a body kit specifically for the '08 Lancers. The only OEM spoiler was the one from the GTS, that in my opinion is too big (my wife thought it looked tacky). We didn't want a street racer looking car, we just wanted something to accent the rear. But to answer your question, the spoiler was less than the GTS spoiler would have been from the dealer.
