Some nice look-in work there...love those SUV's fun stuff to work on
Now for the questions
lots of polish? what brand?
I assuming this was by hand? or was this machine
Can you tell us a bit about the process you used?
The before pics really show the condition of the paint, but the afters are a bit father off and do not show off the quality of your work!..IMO
I'm sorry for the after pics. Usually I'm good about getting close-ups, especially on dark colors. As you can tell in the before photos, the sun was still coming from the east (I think I picked it up around 10 AM) and by the time we finished, it was way down in the west (8:30-8:45 PM around here) so that hood shot was the best I could get. :inspector:
I used mostly Griot's Garage stuff and have had fabulous luck with their products. Process is as follows:
Wash & Dry
Griot's Car Wash & Microfiber Wash Pad
Used pressure washer to get junk out of wheel wells
Used Generic Wash Mitt on Wheels - Q-tips to get junk out of the little cracks and gaps.
Dried with Microfiber Drying Towel
Clay & Polish
Griot's Paint Cleaning Clay and AutoMagic Instant Detailer (for lubrication)
Taped off hood into 4 sections, rubber and plastic trim and polished using Griot's Random Orbital, Orange Polishing Pad, and Stage 3 polish followed up by stage 2 for tougher swirls.
Wax
Griot's Best of Show Wax applied with red wax pad
Allowed to set for an hour and 15 minutes, then removed with MF cloths
Interior
Cleaned and conditioned leather seats and steering wheel with Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner
Leather cleaner works great for those door panel kick scuff marks
Tires & Wheel Arches
Dressed Tires and Black Farings with Griot's Long-Lasting Rubber and Plastic Dressing
Got the Griot's Undercarriage Spray to give the wheel arches that new look.
