07 3-Series, Range Rover, and Mercury Cougar

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Yesterdays first detail. I love the new BMW 3-Series, but I absolutely hate the brake dust that accumulates on their wheels if not professionally cleaned regularly. Here is a 07 328I Coupe with only 15k miles. The brake dust was horrifying !!! These wheels are a royal pain in the arse to clean !!! It took me about 45 minutes extra to bring these wheels back to life, and my 12” wheel brush looked like it was through a war when completed. Gorgeous car though.

I also did a complete on this 05 Supercharged Range Rover with 50 k miles yesterday. You have to love those chrome pipes !!!

Today, I was challenged by this severely neglected Mercury Cougar w/110k miles. The paint was atrocious, and my claybar went from blue to black on the exterior. I had to buff with Hi-Temps Heavy cut leveler, and then followed by 3M Ultrafina. I sealed this car with Meguiars #21.

Interior was no picnic to boot.

Jngrbrdman,

After a wash and mild clay bar, I buffed with Menzerna IP and followed with 3M Ultrafina. It is sealed with Klasse Sealant Glaze. I like using Klasse Sealant Glaze on cars that are not detailed regularly due to its durability. I will most likely not detail this car again until the late fall.

I'll have to start with an SG base the next time I polish out my car then. I've been experimenting with other products and haven't gone back to what I know works. That is great work though. Good work on those wheels even though they probably were black within a couple hours anyway. lol Why can't European manufactuers make a car that doesn't dust like that?
