^these 3 for comparison, you can see how little of a difference i made... the top pic is a before btw. the bumper was beyond repair. im sure wetsanding could bring it back... or maybe a much heavier compound...

i was bummed there wasnt any sun out so i can truely see how i did. what i did notice though was that when i went to visit him, his neighbor also has a black altima. and i noticed that his car was noticeably darker and glossier then the neighbors. which made me feel doog

Looks great, btw the paint nissan uses on the Altima (maybe more) sucks... I've got the same problem with ours.

Nice job, bumper maybe needs wet sanding?

Believe it or not, that is a stock, not resprayed bumper. My sister's '04 (I believe the one in this thread is an '05) has the same exact problem.

Yea umm, Nissan? Hello?

It is shocking that ANY company would let work like that go out of the factory. I just wish I was an Autopian back when she bought the car...

see i had thought that the car had been in an accident, and then repaired without insurance. i couldnt believe that a bumper left the factory looking like that...

I don't think I've ever seen a current generation Altima in black. Most of the one's around San Antonio are silver or white.

I dont know, I had the first year of that body style and my car was the white, the bumper cover matched the rest of the paint, much better than that. That car would have never came home with me looking like that! I wonder if the dealership had a boo boo with it prior to delivery or the auto transport? Thats horrible. Memory serves me all newer nissans like those are a h-20 based paint, no voc's, chip like crazy too, my 06 frontier is like that. (not the quality, the chipping)

Sorry this is the only rear shot of my 06 alty, but has I see this pic, I had just finished detailing it that day in the summer of 06, looking good, even the bumper too. :D

BTW-whats under the car cover? :nixweiss

we had a 99 infiniti i30 with the same amount of orange peel on the rear. i actually had a couple of potential buyers walk away because they were convinced it had been hit even though it hadn't.

thanks nissan.....

my late fathers 03 champagne gold audi cabriolet.

i was going paint correction on it, just to make it look really pretty, and when my friend said he could leave his car with me for the weekend i moved it out of the garage. i went crazy on thsoe wheels lol. the audis wheels have like 5 coats of sealant =P they are super slick, and the water just sheets off of them. the car isnt done yet tho. im really taking my time and going over every single area...

thanks for the comments btw. i did the job forfree just so i could experiece a black car paint correction.

i just did a midnight blue S class mercedes. my god. i officially loathe mercedes CC. unfortunatly i have no pictures of what correction i could do with the materials i had, and the time that i had.
