04cobra's Combo!

I gotta say thanks to 04cobra for sending me some Caranuba Moose Wax! I finally got around to using it, and I must say, it's really nice.

My Mach1 previously had VM and EX-P x2 on it, done a couple weeks ago. Over the weekend, I decided to try out the CMW.

I washed with NXT Wash (love how it and EX-P sheets a lot of water off).

The hood needed a little polishing, so I did #80 with a polishing pad to clean it up, then VM, EX-P x2 (24 hrs between coats), then CMW x2. I didn't have time to do the rest of the car (there are a few light scratches that I'll take care of later) and got 2 coats of CMW over the existing VM, EX-P x2.

It appears the CMW added a little depth to the paint, and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm thinking of trying EX w/caranuba (instead of EX-P), and top that off with Natty's Wax.

Anyways, onto the pictures.

Here's the VM, EX-P x2 combo on the hood:

The angle and lighting are somewhat similar.

Pictures don't do justice to this new combo. :(

*UPDATE*

I walked outside and saw this:

The sun was behind some clouds, and :bounce

I can tell a difference on the hood, looks alot better with an actual carnuba wax. Nicely done, love the car and color.

Hi hirosh,

Your Cobra looks great! Yeah, I notice the 2nd pic really makes your Cobra glow. The last pic looks very nice.

EX and Natty's is a good carnauba combination.

With Aloha,

Ranney :)

Turned out great Hirosh! I had a feeling you would love this combo, Even my girlfriend noticed the difference with the CMW, it really looks great. I can only take credit for the combo, but the product's were introduced to me by a couple of people on here, so I owe it to them, and telling me to try different combo's for fun. I myself was thinking of picking up some PwC, and EX, just to see how it works. From what I understand is that the EX has carnauba in it, so it won't be quite as clear, but it may look a little bit more wet, but please post pics if you do it! It really looks wet, in a couple of weeks, put a coat of EX-P over the CMW, I found that to be a great look for me, give the CMW a couple of weeks to cure! And thanks for the post about my opinion, I hope some other people like the way it turned out and give it a try. And if you gous don't know where to get these products, try these vendors, they take great care of their customer's!!

ranney - heh heh, i wish it was a cobra! all i got is the slow mach1 ;):D but thanks. hopefully, depending on my money situation, i will be getting more products from you soon.

04cobra - again, thanks for the advice and for the CMW! at first i couldn't tell the difference until i looked at my old pictures and then i saw how much deeper and wetter it looked. and i love how it feels, quite velvety. :p

and yeah, i should also thank everyone on Autopia who posted about these different products and advised others to try different combos. that's the great thing about this board, you can see what other people are trying and not go in 'blind'.

and yes, EX has caranuba in it. it be interesting to see the difference between it and EX-P because i like the clean look of EX-P. it's kinda funny how i can't leave a combo on too long. :p but i'll definitely post pictures if i do try the EX and Natty's combo.

and yeah, Pakshak is a great place to do business with. i am bias because i'm on the same island as ranney and thus can get my order quickly. :D but he is also a great guy to talk to and has good products too (he just expanded his product line), plus his ultra fine MFs are really soft. :)

looking good... like how that combo worked out.. just curious but do u polish over that black strip on the hood? or no?

ranney: no problem. i think the title might have been a little confusing. :o

zesty-man: one neighbor keeps telling me "you're gonna rub the paint off your car." :D

NavindraLR: no polish for the strip on the hood, i just tape them off with that blue painter's tape. but if you were to look at them, you can see some scratches. and i did put some Meg's #16 Wax on them to sorta make them look better.

Is there a lifeguard around your car at all times cuz I swear you can drown in the paint!!!

Looks amazing, I did VM/EX-P/CMW on my girlfriend's Saab and it looks amazing. Astonishing depth and wetness!
