04 Durango

I had my 04 Durango detailed today by "Mike's Car Wash and Detail" in Palm Beach, FL. I'm extremely picky about my vehicle, but don't currently have the time to take care of this beast myself. Mike took the Durango, complete with dealer installed swirls, and made it look like this:

That's the "after" shot of the hood, using flash to demonstrate that the swirls are gone. Sorry I don't have before pics, but if anyone has ever purchased from a Dodge dealer, I'm sure they know how bad the paint looks at delivery.

Here's a couple of profile shots. Sorry I couldn't get anything in the bright sun:

The vehicle was clayed, polished, and topped w/NXT. I think Poorboys and Maguires products were used, but I'm not positive. The work was done with a Porter Cable buffer.

If anyone living in the Palm Beach area needs flawless detail work done, I highly recommend Mike for the job.

Is that the molten red pearlcoat color???

Yes, that's the color. It looks very "purple" in indirect light, but on bright days it looks more red. There's lots of metallic flake in it as well, as you can see from the first photo.

Looks nice when it's clean, but it's almost as bad as black to keep clean.

Same color as my 04 Dakota and I know what you mean...clwna and polished it is great but when it is dirty it shows

Thanks for the kind words Craig!

I haven't had a chance to post much on Autopia or Detailcity recently, things have been pretty hectic in S. FL these past few weeks.

It was a pleasure to bring back the hidden luster in your 04' Durango... ill also be sure to post my exact detailing steps at a later date for the rest of the autopians who are curious. :xyxthumbs

My best wishes to you, your wife and the newborn!

to each their own, looks awesome though :xyxthumbs

The after paint looks like it just drank in some wet nourishment. The paint also looks much deeper. Way to go. :xyxthumbs
