04 Deville vs. Zaino

The 'outlaws' are in town, so I took the party to the garage :)

Process Used:

Wash:

TOL Bubble Bath

TOL Wheel/Tire cleaner on the wheels, tires, and wells.

Polish:

Z18 Clay

ZPC on the Cyclo using a polishing pad. We weren't after 100% defect paint on this one, so I opted for a 1 step to clean/prep the paint and take care of the light stuff. This left the paint about 85% defect free.

Protect:

Z5Pro (zfx'd) (paint, glass, wheels, exhaust)

Z6 QD Wipe Down

Z2Pro x 1 (paint, glass, wheels, exhaust). I cut Z2Pro with Z8 to help it spread a bit thinner (I really like the consistency of Z5Pro. Easy on easy off)

Z8 Final Wipe Down

Z16 on the tires

Z6/Z8 on the wheels.

Here are a few after's. The sun was in and out today, so the pics are just so so.

My father-in-law enjoys lurking on the boards and will get a kick out of seeing his Caddy show up.

Ha! LOL.

I started around 7:30pm, and finished around 3am.

I detailed the interior too:

-Vac & APC on spots (interior & trunk)

-Steamed the carpets, doors & windows.

-Dressed the interior (Z9, Z10, Z16/Z10 mix).

-The windows were done with Vinegar & Water

-The jams & wood were sealed with Z5Pro & wiped down with Z8.

-All seals were protected with CG’s VRT

-The wells were dressed in engine brite.

The interior was done while Z5Pro cured on the exterior.

Here are a few more shots (These were taken after logging 50 miles on the car yesterday –it still look spotless).

Thanks everyone!

Here are the 'finals' from this afternoon. I broke down and washed it again.

I'm having fun with my new camera (Cannon A700. I used the star-cross filter on the finals -which were taken in full sun).

Topped with Z2Pro & Z8 wipe down. No dressing, etc.. on the tires, wells. It stuck like glue :)
