Hey guys, well my brother recently got into a car accident (long story short, roads were wet, he spun out and hit a tree) and ended up getting his whole entire car repainted, new exhaust, every wheel was refinished, new suspension, and basically a whole new rear quarter panel. He definately lucked out and I'm glad he was ok, his paint on the other hand, was not!

There were holograms and minor marring throughout the whole car, as well as a few problem areas that you will see. Rotary burns and micromarring were heavy in some areas and I did as best I could with the PC...Process was as follows

-NXT Wash

-Optimum Compound/Orange LC Pad PC at 6..

-Optimum Polish/Orange LC Pad, PC at 6

-Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze/White LC Pad, PC 4-5

-Caranuba Moose Wax via Black pad

-Trim is wearing 476s

-Wheels got poorboys wheel wax

The Engine also needed to be cleaned, it was very dusty from the shop and just needed a quick job..

Overall the shop did a fairly good job on the repaint...It has less orange peel than it did, the clarity is stunning now, and the flake is outstanding. Their rotary work was less than stellar but what do you expect right?

Oh, and if any of you are wondering what my car looks like, basically the same  :D

Looks great!! Thats a couple of beautiful mustangs. I like the deep dish Mach-1 wheels on the rear of the Mach. I bet your arms/ hands were shaking with all that work with the PC.

Looks better than new! - I'm glad the body shop experience worked out for your brother. Nice palm tree reflections too.

Wow, that is a great job... looks like its never been driven. Especially the before and after of the engine, must have taken a great amount of time. Almost makes me overcome my laziness and do mine.... almost. :ignore

Awesome correction with the PC, you did a outstanding job on the GT. Great shot of the Florida palm tree's and the sky (money shot).............:2thumbs:

How long ago was it painted? I was told that any body shop work needed at least 60 days, preferably 90 days before waxing. Any truth to this?

Car looks beautiful. Love those wheels!

Yes, usually you need to wait 60-90 days, its been over a month now so I figured it should be alright...It does need to be protected though, as he drives it down to UM and it gets fairly dirty in the garage and from weekly use..

Thanks all, I may have to polish it out again sometime in the near future to get it 100%...(to my standards ;) )
