This is one of my good friends cars. He went on vacation last week and dropped the car off at my house during that time for me to work on it.

The car came on a rainy day, so it had quite a bit of road grime on it.

Here is how the car was before I started.

I started off by cleaning the wheels and exhaust.

After finishing the wash I was rather impressed with the condition of the paint. It has been over a year since I detailed the car, and except for some minor RIDS the car was fairly marring free. It goes to show what you can accomplish if you properly wash a vehicle.

This is the only area that I have to really focus on as the magnet for the sat radio has caused some deep marring over the last year.

So next I focused on the interior which was in pretty good condition as well.

My halogen light decided to burn out so I couldn't use it to show any correction/current condition, but I'll get some sun pics tomorrow.

I ended up using Menzerna IP with an orange pad on the roof, and rear bumper cover as it had some light spider webbing there I hadn't noticed before.

The rest went

Optimum White CCS, 1200rpms

3M Ultrafina Blue CCS, 900-1000rpms

FMJ Red CCS, PC speed 1

I like the outcome so much with the FMJ that I didn't top it with 1Z Glanz Wax.

Here are the pictures.

Last thursday night I started by claying the car then taping it up.

Grabbed the Makita

I also didn't take off the wheels so I cleaned around the wheel bolts with some Q-tips.

And here are the afters from tonight.

The process creates alot of dust (especially the IP) so I had to wash the car after I finished applying the FMJ

Until I get the better pictures from my friends D50 here are some shots I took trying to get full sun shots, and as you all can see they didn't come out so well on this camera (same one I've used for the other pictures).

Awhile back Autogeek sent me some Surf City Metal Polish with one of my orders. I tried it out for the first time today. I ended up spending most of the time on the exhaust tips and muffler trying to clean them up, and then spent a fraction of that time on the lips and centers of the LMGT4s.

Here are the pics

I was surprised the lips and centers weren't cleared on the LMGT4s, I figured they would be. Anyway, the pictures don't really show the improvement, but in person it was noticeable with one wheel done and one not.

Thanks for looking. I was really happy with how the car turned out, and using Ultrafina for the first time hooked me for now.

Thanks for all the comments. As soon as I get the other pictures from my friends camera I should have some better sun shots.

nice job, does he have some curb rash on the wheels :(
Yes, sadly on the front driver side the wheel has some light curb rash. Good news is it is getting repaired this week. The other thing is you may notice that there are no front bumper shots... the car was hit at Vanderbilt in the parking garage and he has to get the front bumper repainted from that (and because the paint is cracking on the bumper), but that is getting fixed soon as well so I didn't even touch it.
