Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!

This car belongs to a long time friend of mine. He was the lead technician at GMMG (www.gmmginc.net) for about 4 years before leaving to start his own business. I actually worked there for a little over a year doing detail work before leaving to start my own business as well. The car is ZL1 #6, is a "Phase 2" car (LS6 with a heads and cam package) and has been modeled after the old Baldwin Motion Camaro's. His car is even signed by Joel Rosen!! It's a goreous car and I could probably fill an entire thread talking about these very special Camaro's. Check out the GMMG website for the full scoop. The car is pretty much new in the wrapper (121 miles) and is stored indoors 24/7. He wanted it glowing for the big f-body show here in Atlanta this weekend www.fbodygathering.com

The detail:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Glaze with ClearKote's Vanilla Moose using my PC set at 5 with a Meg's 9006 pad

Seal with ClearKote's Carnuba Moose by hand with a foam applicator

Enjoy!

Mike

#7 Not sure if you can read that but the final sticker is $82,880!!!!!:shocked :shocked Believe it or not...some collectors are paying 6 figures for these cars...to each their own I guess!:nixweiss

Truely an awesome car, although to the neophyte just another camaro You have to be a fan to really appreciate what this ZL1 really means. The car is phase II which means it has the 400hp/410tq Package.

You should have thrown alittle S100 on top of that sucka! It still came out amazing. I can't wait for the Berger Supercar unveiling, man i wish i could be there!

wow! looks amazing! takes me back to 95 when my first car that I bought was a 89 Iroc Z-28. . .fun car to drive. . .bad for a 18yr old though (I didn't get into too much trouble with it honestly!)

Thanks for the kind words all!

It is one hell of a ride for sure (you have to hear it at idle) and I have to say out of the the 69 ZL1's they built that this one is the best looking one of them all. It is the only ZL1 that used the Baldwin Motion theme and the only ZL1 painted that custom gun metal grey and black combo.

Qwik the numbers you quoted are for the standard ZL1 package. The "Phase 2" cars were rated at 475hp and 430lbs at the crank. I've seen the dyno sheet for this car and let's just say that for this particular ZL1...those numbers are conservative.:D

Wow, cool car. I really like those magnesuim wheels on it. But, it seems a little over-badged, and I couldn't help but notice a "ZL-1" badge and a "454" badge... Not to mention it seems the base ZL-1 edition comes with a 350 LS-6, not a 427. I guess at least it is an all-aluminum block, though.

Is the paint in front of the hood scoop a flat paint? Or is it just the photo looking weird? And where have I seen that exhaust before? Did SLP make an optional one like that? It looks familiar for some reason.

Excellent detail work. The car looks wicked! :xyxthumbs
