01 Mustang Cobra Covertible detail

Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!

Well...I got spoiled again! Another client dropped his SWEET Cobra off at my house and allowed me detail it in my garage! I've been mobile (my primary business mode) for a little over two years...but man...detailing a vehicle on your "home turf" with all my supplies, radio and coffee pot (coffee runs through my veins instead of blood) make the job just that much more fun!!:D

The car is a 2001 Cobra convertible (a little over 14K on the odometer) with about 320 ponies finding their way to the rear wheels. The suspension is HEAVILY modified and my guess is that this ole' vert' would give many a coupe a run for their money on a road course! The client is a SUPER NICE guy and cares for this Cobra VERY well....which made my job that much easier! I have to say that this Cobra and the 10th anniversary Cobra that I recently detailed were two of the most tastefully modded Stang's I have had the pleasure of working on. Just the right amount of mod's to make them stand out yet still retaining the very classy lines of the current generation Cobra.

The detail:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Mother's clay bar (the car had seen some body shop time and was HEAVILY coated in clearcoat overspray)

Polish with Meg's #82 Swirl Free Polish with my PC set at 5 using a Meg's 8006 pad

Glaze with Meg's #81 Hand Polish applied by hand using a microfiber applicator pad

Seal with NXT x 2 applied by hand with a foam applicator. The first coat was applied directly after removal of the #81 and the second coat was applied approximately 12 hours later (the vehicle was left at my house overnight).

Overall it was another great detail scenario for me!!:xyxthumbs The car was simply AWESOME, the client couldn't have been nicer and I got to work on the "home field"!!!!

Enjoy!

I really like those darker pewter/silver colors, GREAT JOB. It really makes the difference if you have a well mainted vehicle to work on, you can concentrate on the littler details rather than just getting the thing to look presentable...

Great job! Did you notice if there was any paint chipping on the front of the hood, or on the panels behind the wheels? I have a 03 cobra and the paint is so thin, that there are little chips in those spots. Again, awesome job!

Thanks for the kind words all!

Adman I agree...the owner of this snake did a sweet job of keeping it sharp and subtle...best way to mod a car in my opinion!!

P.S.......Redcar GUY.....

I like your new avatar MUCH better! :D :xyxthumbs
