00 Acura Integra, my first time with a PC :P

I've been around these forums for a good while but haven't really posted much because practically everything i wanted to know has been talked about. I used to detail by hand allll the time but haven't lately because i've been busy. My combo of choice back then was AIO/UPPx2/S100x2 mmmm... Which made the car glow a strange yet attractive orange color.

I finally got around to detailing, i haven't washed it since like... january so it was pretty dirty. I think i waxed it back then, can't remember the last time i sealed it. I had a bunch of products already so i only ordered an Edge 2000 Pad set and used the chemicals i had laying around. No sealant cause i didn't have any.

Steps I took:

-wash (meguiar's soap)

-clay (clay magic clay)

-Polish with PC 7336, speed 6, Orange Edge 2000 pad, Meguiars #9 Swirl Removal 2.0, and Meguiars #2 Fine Cut for the tougher areas

-Cleaned with PC. speed 6, Blue Edge pad, S100 Shine Enhancing Paint Cleaner

-Waxed with PC, speed 3, White edge pad, Meguiars #26 paste wax (I spread the wax on the pad with a plastic knife

-Waited 12 hrs and hand waxed with S100 Paste Wax

random note:

tires were dressed with armor all

headlights were cleaned with Scratch-X

front lip and under hood was done with turtle wax platinum (had a sample bottle), i didn't bother to detail the front lip because it's so chipped.

I think i took care of maybe... 80-90% of the swirls, which is fine with me heh I went really slow with the PC at highspeed. :waxing:

Anyways, i've always enjoy reading ya'lls post on here, and if you have any tips, post away!

TI is weak. MorningZ and TheGSRGuy are Brokeback Mountain hehehe. HP Gansta what happened to your front? "Veronica" didnt look like that before.

Thanks for the comments!

Jmiller07, my underhood is supershiney cause i had an accident 4 years ago, and the body shop painted/cleared both sides :) not an oem job heh

Good to see some of my long time TI buddies on here!

Anthony, a big thanks to all your help in the past on TI. I link your post to new members asking questions i used to have :)

duck (i think), my ddr partner in crime! Veronica sustained injuries when she lost control and knocked down a fence :/

I spent like $70 on the PC, they were on clearance at lowes

I spent $110 on the pad set from autogeek.net

all my other random products/towels probably total $150 or so, maybe more...

Not that bad imo to keep a 7 year old car looking nice, among the other 3 at my house :up

It is sad that they don't clearcoat the underside of hoods at the factory. They did on some tegs though. My Tafetta White GSR had the whole engine bay and underside of the hood clearcoated. Nice and shiny. :) I'd post pics, but I don't wanna hijack the thread. ;) A clean engine bay is my favorite part of a nicely detailed car. Attention to the underside of the hood is a nice touch.

Didn't realize you were a TI member. I'm (14-9bLaCkLS) hardly ever on there to post because I'm always on Autopia, LoL.

I really love the underside of the hood because it's so much cleaner than mine. Some CD-2 did help it look a lot better though, hehe.

Great job on the work! I also really like the underhood shot.....have not seen to many of those! :2thumbs:

Glad you got to use the new PC. PMed you back at the end of April at TI about some polishes (lllGSRlll) and I think we were in the same boat. The Teg looks nice!
