    Meguiar's scratchx by hand

I'm really curious about this and it has more to do with paint than the product itself. Ok, so I polished my car with this and noted when I got to a lower panel that the pad turned red(my car color, obvious). But on upper panels I got no red residue. I'm assuming this car was repainted...

I gave up the bucket today

Yes that is right. Along with my sponge and a bottle of soap, I need nothing else but the water hose. I been borderline for some time now, but after applying polish and wax it seemed like the next step was for soap to be applied similarly. Even though I use a sponge, I don't see why...

    Heat issues

When it gets hot and the car bakes in the sun, is it better to simply have a clean car versus having one with "sealant" or wax? Seeing that "a protective layer of wax" may trap heat and wreak havoc!

    the other side of tires

Is it best to leave them alone because the addition of tire shine may attract unwanted attention? Because we all know there is no way to get to them as often as the outside of the tire.

    what is polish?

Following the three steps: clean, polish, protect Cleaning is removing dirt. And Wax is providing protection. What is polish doing? Is it removing paint?

    Basic detail

I've waxed cars for years, until I read here that you need a polish in between the wash and the wax. I will start with Dawn to clean, then can you find me a polish, then I got a mothers carnauba cleaner wax, turtle wax, raindance. I also have plenty of soaps to keep it clean in between...

    Directional

Was Miagi onto something? Is one motion better than another? Side-to-side, clockwise, counter, cross-hatching? Or maybe apply your polish or wax, clockwise then buff counter-clockwise...
