I found this on another board. This seems like it would be very useful for us here as we all have products we can loan one another and help each other on a weekend, etc. ....

Any reason not to try something like this with autopians?
Yesterday, my GF's van got keyed BAD. I told her I will get some touch up paint and do what I could.... long story short... she asks what I would do if I caught somebody scratching my paint and she then ran her freakin nail across it. I cursed in spanish and pulled her hand away. She knew...
I need help guys! I have washed my car twice and it continues to look like s*i* . There is a film all around the bottom panels from where the muddy snow kicked up. Did drive it in a couple of sunny days while dirty, which might have baked it on. I first did a QEW that did nothing, then...
I hear everybody saying they crank it up to six on the PC. I've done this with my MEG's pads and they do not take it nicely. They start to seperate from the velcro and flake like a mofo all over the place. Mine are maybe four months old. Bought right before I heard of the newer version...
This may have been brought up before, but ohh well...
My car has plenty of lines I just can't get to when washing or buffing off products. Q-tips don't touch em and I find the brushes worthless. Either too stiff as to cause marring around the area or too soft to get rid of the dirt, grime...
I read alot on QEW and have been using it for a few months now. I love it, EXCEPT I am marring the heck out of my car in no time after polishing it. Anybody out there with a black vehicle have success with keeping it swirl-free with QEW?
The marring is super-light. VM managed to get it out...
How do you guys go about it? Do you use more than usual and work it as you would a polish? (with PC) I remember seeing some nice results and several of you concluding that it beefed up its hiding abilties. Any help would be appreciated as I want to hide small deffects in between polishes. :o
I realize this is almost the same method described many times before, but here's what I've been doing:
Two buckets with qew in both.
Two mitts
Quick run through whole body, top to bottom, rinsing mitt in same bucket every panel or so.
2nd run with CLEAN mitt and solution.
stop to...
Hey y'all. Finally got the PC! And was able to get pads and backing locally. I already went at it with 1Z PP on the cutting pad followed by spped glaze. Except for the scratches, I am very pleased. Swirls are gone!
I have:
1ZMP
1ZPP
Speed Glaze
3m SMR
3M Hand Glaze
Only NXT and s100...
Is there anything out there that attracts dust and pollen a liitle less than the rest? I use NXT and it is ridiculous. It gets covered in no time. Especially when I look at the cars aroound it, it is a very noticeable difference.
Hey guys! I remember reading that the clear on Mazda is relatively hard. I have a black six. How hard is to keep marring-free? Looks like most of my fine scratches come from my pre-autopia days, but it's hard to say. I'm hoping my current ways haven't added too much.:nixweiss Scottabir, I know...
I searched and found that with a PC, two polishes a year wouldn't cut the clear too much. How much life can I expect out of my paint with 2-3 times/year? I do understand to go with least agressive and go up needed and back down to finish also if needed.
Yesterday, while detailing my car I remembered a tip on wiping the windows down with a towel just used on removing wax/sealant off the body. Worked great! Just did QEW all over including windows. Allowed them to dry with spots galore. Wiped off NXT and proceded to wipe. No streaks whatsoever...
I did what I could with what I had on hand:
3M SMR
3M IHG
NXT
Some minor swirls left, but my crappy skills didn't capture em
Cloudy day. :( ,not yet familiar with camera:( ,crappy photographer:( ,waiting on #16:( ,got my wheels dirty before pics:( , will top with #16 and get better pics soon;)
