    Spot-X + Scotch Brite Sponge

I'm having trouble with build up on my windshield that I have yet to be able to remove. I've tried Ultimate Compound via UDM and terry cloth, Nu-Glass via UDM and terry cloth, clay, vinegar, and magic eraser. That said, I'm resorting to trying Spot-X. I've lost the "no scratch" pad that came...

Vroom Small MF Drying Towel - Target

Just got back from Target and mine had the small (3sq ft, 15in x 30in) yellow drying MFs on clearance for $2.44, marked down from $3.49. Not sure if this is everywhere, but a nice deal if it is. I've picked up 4 of these and 3 of the blue detailing packs for <$30 in the past week. Target...

Buying a UDM - Do I need to add to my product arsenal?

Thus far I've been doing everything by hand and I'm pretty much over that. :) I've decided to get a UDM and I am curious if I need to buy any other products to go with it. My current product line for correcting/protection is... Collinite 476S Scratch X NXT 2.0 Megs Paint Cleaner Step 1...

    Something's catching my polish

I was hand polishing with 1z Metallic Polish Wax and I notice that something kept catching the polish and making streaks. I couldn't really see or feel what would be catching it. Prior to the polishing I had washed and clayed the vehicle. Any clues? Here's some examples. The second...

    Funny new product

Never Wax Your Car Again! - 5 Star Shine *sigh* Any comments on this? Has anyone used this product as just a wax or something (obviously it isn't as advertised)?

How do I paint plastic tail lights?

Hi all, My 1986 RX-7 is in desperate need of some TLC. My next project is repainting the tail lights. They were originally black and have since faded to anything between black and light gray. Anyways, how would I go about painting them?

    Using Magic Eraser on windshield

So I searched around and found out that I could use a Magic Eraser on the windshield to get off water spots. Only problem is that all I could find is the Extra Strength ones. Anyone see a problem with using those? If so... guess the g/f is getting some new erasers. :D Thanks

    Interior Plastic Scratches (/w pics)

The plastic seems pretty soft. The pillar plastic which is darker and even looks thicker was not scratched from the same object (I don't want to get into it... :( ). I can't feel the scratches with my fingers/fingernails. I also used 303 over it and that got some of them out (pre-picture...

    Cleaning a sheepskin mitt

How do you wash/clean a sheepskin mitt after you wash the car with it? I ran water over it and massaged it with my hands and it looked clean, but I just want to be sure so I don't scratch the paint with dirt I didn't get out. I was also afraid to put it in the washer because it seemed like...

    Heat and Sunlight Acceptibility

Alright, so it's bad to work in sunlight and on hot surfaces. I don't have a lot of shade, if any, so currently my time to work on the car is constrained to right when the sun's going down which isn't a long period of time especially if I'm wanting to do more than just wash. The days are...

    Side Moldings/Skirts Safe to Wax?

I have side moldings/skirts on my car (seen below circled in red) and I was wondering if they were waxable. I'm assuming the moldings aren't but the skirts are, but I want to be sure before I go waxing away. If it matters I'm going to be using Collinite 476s. The first two cars pictured I...

Dealer using 1500 grit wet sanding

I just bought a new car (black Mazda 6) and it had something on the paint. They tried to clay bar it and it didn't come off. Apparently it isn't sap but I think it might be. They have a lot in the back that they keep cars in before they take them out onto the main lot. There's some trees...
