    My '82 Vette.....

This car was painted with Base/Clear 16 YEARS AGO. The paint is in remarkably good shape. During the winter I cut the swirls with M105, LC orange pad with a PC, followed up with Z5Pro, LC White with PC; then Z8. I maintain with Z8 weekly from April through October (Drivin' Season!!!).:D:D:D

Cleaned Engine on the Daily (GTP)

It wasn't all that dirty, mostly just a little dust and some road splash. The only products I used on this engine bay were an APC & ArmorAll Tire Foam. I cleaned the alternator and supercharger with APC (50/50 water), and wiped dry. Everything else in the engine bay got saturated with AA...

    Cleaning "Ultra-Suede"...

A friend just bought a 2004 Chevy Malibu with light tan Leather/Ultra-Suede interior. The Ultra-Suede is in the center of the seats with leather surrounds. Leather... easy to clean. The suede, however is a different animal. It is badly stained and needs some heavy cleaning. I don't have...

    50-Year-Old Chevy Pickup...

Last spring a guy called me and said that he had a '58 Chevy pickup that needed to be polished for a parade... ORIGINAL paint. The one thing I DIDN'T want to do is go through that original paint. So I was extremely careful. Heavy oxidation, and scratches. No swirls. I started with SSR 2.5...

The daily ritual on the daily driver..... Wife..."Where you going, honey?" Bill..."Ohhh, I'm just going out to clean the windows on the GTP......." Wife..."Uhhhh huh." 20 minutes later..... Wife..."The windows must have been REALLY dirty!" Bill..."Well...................the glass looked so...

    ZAIO Still Amazes me...

I did a coat of ZAIO today after church, then went up to QuikTrip for gas... the shine looked so good under the canopy, I snapped a couple cell phone pics...... I clayed with Meg's claybar, used PBS&W as my clay lube. Applied one coat of ZAIO with a PC, 3M 5-1/4" soft waffle pad from...

    Meguiar's #1 Medium Cut + PC...

I've read on some detailing forums (and on the Meguiar's label!) that #1 Medium Cut Cleaner is for "Rotary Use Only"... I have been using it for years with my PC and it is a VERY nice product for the removal of scratches, swirls, oxidation. Sometimes it leaves a little hazing, so I will follow...

Do you remember your first detail for $$$?

:) Well I sure remember mine... It was about 30 years ago and a lady (my neighbor) was constantly watching me clean my cars, daily, in my driveway... One day she came over and asked me the now-famous line, which you've all undoubtedly heard... Yes, you've all heard it.:lol2: Well... it was...

QEW + Warm Water + Absorber....

My QEW wash and dry method keeps evolving and getting more refined. First, I have switched from using MF towels for the wash, to a large sheepskin washmit. The mitt hold 3-4 times as much water and lubricates very well. I do not wring the mitt at all, leaving it saturated with QEW water...

UPPS Report - Next Day - Super Slick ...

I tried UPPS for the first time 2 days ago. I was very impressed with it's shine, slickness, ease of application and removal, and the overall general look. I had read on the PAC website, that UPPS actually gets SLICKER when it cures via heat. The product label says to put the car in the sun...

    UPPS - I'm impressed......

I'm a long-time Zaino user, but I'm also open-minded towards other top notch products. I have used UPP with excellent results, but hadn't tried UPPS until last night. This is a NICE PRODUCT! Very easy to apply, very wet and slick finish, no streaking. I applied it to 2 cars. One over UPP...

    MF Towels ... Lifespan ...

I probably have 200 MF towels. The brand new ones, of course, are reserved for applying and taking off wax or sealant products. The mid range towels, I use for interior cleaning, and lower body panels. Low end demoted towels, are reserved for engine bay, wheels, rocker panels, etc. How often...

    Nathan's Glass Cleaner...

In all my efforts to avoid WalMart, I was deceived into going there yesterday. As long as I had to be in there, I checked out the detailing supplies. I needed some glass cleaner, and they usually carry Stoner Invisible Glass. I spotted a product called Nathan's Glass Cleaner. (which I've...

    Rubber Floor Mats.....

I really like thick rubber floor mats for winter. I bought these from Parts For Your Car . Com. They are nice and heavy, with rubber "spikes" on the backside to keep them from sliding or moving..... Actually I like them so much, I use them all year 'round..... When they get covered with...

How I spent my afternoon... spruce up those wells!

It was an extremely nice day here in KC so I took the opportunity to swap my summer rims for the factory wheels, before the snow flies.... And... As long as I had the wheels off... what the heck. I decided to do a little wheel well cleaning before winter in an effort to keep rust to a...

    Detailing and Cardio Excersize.....

I absolutely hate to excersize just for the sake of excersize. BUT..... I just love clean cars, and I have 5 of them. (me, wife, 3 teenage sons)... Because we drive all of our cars every day, I always have a car to wash, clean, vacuum, dress, wax, QD, etc. And I truly love doing it. My...
