    Overspray problem

I work next to a body shop and the wind seems to carry overspray from their paint booth exhaust fan. About a month ago i did KAIO + 845 IW. The paint is still slick and beads nicely, but there is a barely noticeable black film(overspray) on the 845 that washing won't remove. My question...

    OCW question

Does OCW work well over Collinite 845? The 845 was applied about a month ago FWIW. Are there any products that OCW doesn't agree with?

So i bought some Klasse AIO

I'm wondering what would go well with KAIO. I've got some Duragloss AW, and some Collinite 845. Are those good choices, or should i order some SG? If it makes any difference i plan on using this on a white Toyota.

    Meguiars.com troubles

I tried to make an order from Meguiar's.com and they seemed to require a lot of imformation. I gave the zipcode and it was still required to give extra digits, i don't have any old letters laying around so i couldn't complete the order. Why is this required?

    99 Grand Am

This car has been sitting for the past 8 months awaiting some serious engine work and water found its way in at some point. I only had a few hours to work on it so this was basically a carpet and upholstery detail, i gave the rest of the interior a quick wipedown but it was far from clean. The...

    Vinyl floor?

I did some work on an 05 F-150 work truck that has a vinyl floor instead of carpet. There was mud everywhere(thank god it didn't have carpet) and i did my best to clean it. There was a huge improvement but the floor still looked a bit dingy afterwards. I could have used vinyl dressing on it...

    Got a good scare today

I detailed the engine on a 97 acura SLX today and after rinsing it, i tried to start it and i got nothing. I used an air compressor to dry everything in the engine bay as best i could and still nothing. I was afraid that i damaged something important, but apparently the battery was old and by...

    Bissel LGCM

I bought an LGCM today(non heated version but came with the turbo brush) and decided to clean my interior with it. I sprayed the carpet/upholstery with a Woolite/water mixture brushed it in and used the LGCM with plain water in the reservoir to extract. It was amazing how much dirt this thing...

    DuraGloss Total Performance Polish

I decided to take a trip to the local store that carries Duragloss products so i could pick up a bottle of Aquawax. While i was there one of the employees reccomended the total performance polish(#105) he said it was extremely easy to apply and remove. As it only costs about 8 dollars i...

    UPP durability?

I'm thinking that applying UPP after DACP might have been a mistake. After a month(almost to the day), the UPP was completely gone except for the rocker panels and the area just above them. The only other reason i can think of would be the NXT wash that i use, but i really doubt that it would...

Not sure if this is the correct forum...

I'll be applying for a job monday at a car dealership. The job is for "auto cleanup" and requires six months experience. I have no "official" experience in that area, but i've been cleaning cars the autopian way on my own for the past three years. I know that the manager probably won't care...

bug and tar remover that won't damage trim?

I used Stoner's Tarminator today and the overspray damaged trim, the car had severe tree sap over the roof and while i was extremely careful, some overspray hit the trim around the rear windshield. the trim was stained and in one spot bubbled up. Is there a product like it that effectively...

    Meguiar's ColorX durability?

I bought a bottle of this, because i've seen posts saying that it was a good one-step product. I've done a search and haven't been able to find anything about its durability. The type of vehicle i would use it on is the neglected kind that isn't washed very often and is left out in the...

I learned a valuable lesson today

Leave your windows up while polishing with a PC. Product splatter is a lot easier to clean off of glass than it is the interior. Thankfully the window was halfway up so the glass caught most of it. Also, the Woolight(or is it spelled woolite?) plus water mixture is the best way to clean paint...

    1971 Chevy Paint

What products would i need to polish paint that has been garaged since 1971. The paint is original 71 chevy light green and it feels like 800 grit sandpaper. It hasn't had a proper wash or wax since it was new, so what products would be appropriate to make it look like new.

Meg's 32 oz Mirror Glaze bottles.

Has anyone else noticed that the plastic is extremely thin on these bottles? I've only bought two products in this size and both have broken in the same spot(upper corner). Does Meguiar's sell replacement bottles? I would really prefer the 16 oz bottles as they are a lot thicker and more durable.

First Detail in over 2 years.

The past couple of days have been really warm and nice, so i thought it was time to work on my car. I've neglected the car for the past two years(by autopian standards), it recieved regular washes with the occasional application of some type of cleaner wax. I should have taken some before pics...

    Fuller Brush Car Polish

I found a bottle of this stuff in my dad's storage shed. I asked him about it and he thinks its from early 1984 when he bought a new F150. He told me that he's never polished a vehicle and it shows from the fact that the bottle is full. Surprisingly, this stuff still smells useable.

Did a complete detail today and...*long*

ran into some problems. My process was DACP, IHG, then #26(liquid). This was the first time i had used my PC and the first time i had used the DACP. I used a yellow pad from CMA and with the pc set on 4.5 i removed most of the swirls. I couldn't believe how slick and shiny the surface was...

    Meg's #9 Shelf life

I bought some Meg's #9 from an auto parts store today. Almost all of the products they had looked like they had been there for a while. I picked up the bottle with the least amount of dust on it and brought it home. I opened it up and it seems to be very thin. Is this something that is normal...
