First leather - How to care for

Just purchased a new Nissan Altima with the Blonde leather (black car). This is my first vehicle with leather. I guess the leather is coated, so how should I care for it? Cleaning and conditioning or just cleaning? What products should I use? Lexol is very popular with the 4 Star right...

    orange dots on my vehicle

Just relocated to Georgia. With the move and all, truck washing has taken a back seat. Though, I have noticed a great many tiny raised orange dots on my truck. I have to use my fingernail to remove them as I wash. What is the cause of this? Bugs?

Get latex paint out of carpet?

Anyone know how to get latex paint out of carpet? It's actually in my house on a cream colored carpet. Burnt Orange paint. Small bits of paint. The canvas I had laided down to protect the carpet leaked through.:(

    Ink on interior vinyl

One of my kids must have had ink on his hands when I picked him up after school and now I have that ink on the interior vinyl door grab on the passenger side. I tried Megs APC+ 1:4 and it did not do much. Does anyone have a recommendations for ink removal on vinyl? The vinyl is slightly...

Is there an AIO wheel/tire cleaner

Does anyone use a good all-in-one wheel AND tire cleaner? My laziness is showing through again. Wouldn't it be nice to just spray the wheels and tires, wait, then hose them off? Am I just dreaming here or does some have a solution?

    BnB after rain

Had some light rain last night and now my BnB treated tires and trim look terrible. I know BnB is water based, but now my tires and trim look like they have grayish streaks and spots. Is that normal? Some other products I have used (Stoners in particular) did not do this. Comments?

    Trim Rest, BnB

I tried to use Trim Restorer and Bold n Bright on my black plastic mudguards today. Neither product worked very well at all. Last week, I used Megs NXT protectant on the tires and mudguards. I wonder if the left over NXT interfered with the PB products. I used Megs APC+ (4:1) to scrub down...

    Megs Quick Detailer first use...

Used Meguiars Quick Detailer (maroon bottle) this morning. I rank the results right up there with UGE. Very glossy. I used it after washing my dark blue Protege5 and after S&W on my silver truck. Both look outstanding. The product went on easy with no streaks or anything. Only thing I noticed is...

EF Clear Pearl - first use

I used EF Clear Pearl after I washed this morning. It added some nice shine to my silver truck, but did not leave the finish really slick. UGE is still shinier and slicker. The EF was a little more "sticky" or "gooey." I had to rub it in a bit more than UGE, but I used two MFs (wipe on, wipe...

spray wax vs QD with wax

What are the differences between a spray wax product (such as 4Star's or one the wax as u dry sprays) and a QD that contains wax (such as PBs QD or EF Clear Pearl)? I guess I'm looking for the true intended purpose of these products. I see a QD as a product that adds the finishing touch of...

Does Klasse AIO need a particular amount of time to set-up before applying a topper such as EX?

I see that some waxes are made from yellow carnuba and some from white carnuba. Can anyone explain the performance/characteristic/quality difference?:dunno

    pro use of QD's

Do you you guys that detail for a living use QD's as they are intended (quick touch ups)? I mean, if you go through a full detail and the customer picks up soon after, then is there a need for a QD in the end?

    dressing for tonneau cover...

I have a black vinyl tonneau cover on the bed of my truck that is showing its age. What dressing would be good to use on that? Something that may not run and streak the bed after a rain. I recall that 303 does not run-stain too bad. Does Bold n Bright run like that?

    testing waxes/polys

How would some of us novice detailers conduct our own product testing of waxes and sealants? Shine is easy to see right off, but I am just as concerned with durability. How do I tell when UPP or EX has worn off my finish? They both have polys and they protect even though they don't always bead...

    first Final Inspection use...

I used Meguiars Final Inspection QD for the first time this morning. I am not really impressed. I guess it put an OK shine on my silver truck, but UGE is much more glossy. UGE smells better, too!:lol Meguiars was cheaper by about $3, though. Next up will be EF clear pearl. I hear good things...

    S&W then QD??

Do you guys S&W and then use a QD right after? I picked up a bottle of Meguiars FI and the directions mention it has high lubricity to wipe off minor dirt. I'm wondering if I need both steps.

    rail dust

I read somewhere about using a chemical application to remove rail dust. Can anyone comment on this? Seems around here we all use clay to get this job done.

    sprayer re-use

Does anyone re-cycle particularly good spray bottles from other products? You know, wash out a Meguiars FI spray bottle and use it for something else? Also, where can I get some good spray bottles? I purchased some locally and they are very difficult to adjust correctly.

    glass polish again

Sorry for dragging this on, but I am very excited at some recent results. I've posted this elsewhere on the forum, too. "I just polished the windows on a somewhat neglected '98 Camry with SSR1. Inside and out. I just can't believe the difference it made! The windows are now crystal clear...
