SF Bay Area, can I get a in person opinion?

I was looking at the hood of my Subaru and I still see these millions of tiny pinholes. The car's about 3 months old, but I remember seeing them from purchase. I was wondering if anyone knowledgeable on Autopia could possibly meet with me (or the other way around) in order to get an opinion...

    Big MFs

After promising myself to stop the frustration of trying to dry a car with a 16x16" JT international MF, I decided to scour the net to see how big a MF I could get for a reasonable price. Griot's Yellow Microfiber drying towel (waffle, 25x35") $26.95 CMA Big Blue Drying towel (waffle...

Problems with glass and paint! (many large pics)

My car (2002 WRX Wagon) is about a month old. I've noticed that the water spots on the glass do not go away with washing, Stoner's, or claying. Also, I just FCRC'd my hood (factory installed swirls) and now I can see this odd surface shape... like a million tiny pits. (images gone)

    Not agressive enough!

Ok, I'm getting a little fed up. I've gone from "by hand" to a PC; from Meg. #9 to FI2 to FCRC; from griot's orange to CMA yellow and nothing is strong enough to take out anything more than swirls! I just did my friend's black protege ES 2.0 last night. A PC on 6 w/ 3M FCRC on a CMA yellow...

    Rubbing compound by machine?

I read in the tips forum that you should "Never apply rubbing compound by machine" but carguy said 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compound is a small step up from FI2 and I have no qualms using FI2 by machince. The questions are: Can I use 3M FCRC by PC? To the whole car? To the horizontal panels (that...

    Reviving Old Chalky Rubber?

A friend of mine recently bought a 1992 Toyota Corolla wagon. It's quite a nice find (no dings at all, paint in good quality) with over 100K miles. As an autopian, I look at the car and wonder how it's going to look when it looks new again. I did't see any hangups on the road to makining it...
