I'm showing my age, I guess

It may seem like a simple (read silly) question, but... What's a BHB? It's not listed on the acronym page and I just can't seem to find a definition for it. It's a bear hitting 40...I can hardly remember where my home is (thank God my car does!)

    Considering a Mini

I am considering buying a Mini and am wondering what the overall Autopian opinion might be about the car. Like it? Love it? Hate it? Never driven one? I've only begun my research into reliability, whether it holds its value, etc., but an Autopian opinion is important to me. I'll be...

Any Alfa Romeo fans out there??

I have some relatives that live in Peru that are willing to give/sell cheaply me an '83 or '84 Alfa Romeo 164. I am basing this solely according to the emblem on the rear. But while researching the car at various sites, it appears to be a Alfasud ti (based on apearances only). I need to get some...

    Lexol Vinylex

I was looking for an easily sourced rubber trim/interior protectant, but could not find Meguiar's 4x anywhere. I did locate some Vinylex pretty much everywhere I went, so I decided to try it. After some searches here, it seemed like it would fit the bill well. I was looking for something to...

    Eagle One A2Z review

I finally have a 2 day (dry) weekend to work on my car and because of timimg, have not been able to care for my baby as I should (how un-Autopian of me!). Due to my lack of attention, the whels had gotten really black/brown wth brake dust and grime. Normally, I've used EF HI, but I'm completely...

    Suggestions, please...

I'm in need of a wheel cleaner that will work on some medium to heavy accumulations of brake dust, but here's the catch. I need to be able to find it locally. I normally use either EF HI or Griot's Wheel Cleaner, but am out of both. I'm not familiar with the commercially available products at...

I wish I had my camera...

I wish I had my camera so I could've taken a photo of my neighbor washing his truck (half beater/half daily driver) with... now get ready... a MOP!! I was in shock... especially since he washes his hog religously (but probably uses a dish rag). It was a sight !!

    Jimwh Klasse Instructions (updated)

I've used Klasse and found it to be really easy to use, literally just follow the directions. What I liked about it is the amount of time that it took to 3 layers of each product (about a one day process with liberal breaks). First off, go to CMA and get the Klasse Concours Kit for $40. It...

One example of local detailers prices

We have a local detailer come by our office park complex once a week and I thought I'd share his prices with you for comparison's sake. I'm not certain if he discounts for us as a favor or not... Prices are as follows: Wash & Vacuum $20 Wash, Wax, Interior Vacuum, Windows, Dash...

    Fresh spilled coffee

I just had coffee spilled in my car (thankfully only on the floor mat). Any recommendations on how best to clean it? I have both EF Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner and Resolve Carpet Cleaner (powder & brush). Just FYI, the coffee was with cream and sugar.

    Lexol leather care products

What's the consensus on Lexol Leather Cleaner and Lexol Leather Conditioner/Preservative? Any god? A waste of money? Something better for the price? Thanks in advance. :bow

How to use a PC on corners/edges?

Curiousity question...what is the best technique for using a PC on corners and edges? Obviously, I don't want to cause a bigger problem, but neither do I want to do them by hand. Any tips?

    I'm not a (PC) virgin anymore !!

(This thread can be moved to the review section, if needed.) WOW !! What fun a PC can be. I raced home from my morning errands (25K service on the Jetta) and broke out the supplies. After a thorough scrubbing of my wife's car (1996 Volvo 960) to get rid of a week's worth of construction...

    I finally broke down...

and bought a Porter Cable 7336SP (the 6" version of the 7424 with Polishing pad). Lowes had them for $109, plus my local tax (driving it to $115), so I'm all excited as a kid in a candy store. Tomorrow, I'l get the Porter Cable Accessory Kit, the Viper Micro Fiber Bonnets and David's book, so...

    I'm going to break down...

and get a PC 7336 (the 6" version), probably at Lowes, which currently has it for $109. It's the lowest price I've found so far. I'm calling the Factory Service Center (it's local !) today to see if they have any reconditioned ones. In the mean time I have a question on pads. I'm considering...

    Pinnacle Poly Clay

QUESTION: Should clay break down over use and get "soupy?" I was under the impression that the clay would only get dirty, but not absorb liquid. Might this be indicative of using too much lube? The reason that I ask is that I went to clay the roof of my car this past weekend and had picked...

    MF towel observations

While on several errands today, I ran across several brands of MF towels and thought that I'd attempt to make some general comments. I can only directly compare towels sourced from CMA (as I've never purchased from other sources), but from what I understand, YoSteve & Tacscar share the same...

    New Stoners fan

While I was out making some purchases, I ran across a can of Stoners Invisible Glass for $3.99 at PepBoys and decided to give it a try. Pretty cool stuff. With my Viper Glass Cleaning Cloths, I was able to get a lot of road haze off the windshield (only 2 days after a thorough washing !) and...
