Noob question - Lake Country Pads

Hey guys. I'm looking for some new pads for my pc. I previously had the Edge 2000 pads, but wanted to try something different. Troy had suggested the LC flat pads. Maybe this sounds stupid, but are those the CCS pads? What size should I get? I'm planning on upgrading to a Flex at some...

Need some advice for my new car

Hey all, I just picked up a 2009 Nissan Altima a couple weeks ago and need some advice. The color is Dark Slate. I live in Columbus, OH so needless to say the weather around here has already gotten ugly and I'm not sure if I'm going to get much of a chance to get anything done to it this...

'03 350z turned my pad blue?

I would have expected this from an older car with SS paint, but an 03? It's daytona blue. It has some pretty bad holograms and some swirls. I was using Optimum polish on a yellow edge pad, and it turned my pad blue. Anyone know what would cause this?

    Edge 2000 pads

Hey guys, I've been using the Edge 2000 pads this summer on a few cars. I've been using the pc for a few months now. I was using Optimum polish yesterday with a yellow pad, and I was having a tough time getting rid of any swirls. Also, I started noticing it was very difficult to even get the...

Everything streaks! Am I an idiot?

I can't seem to find anything to use on the interior, especially the dash, that doesn't streak and look spotty to me. I'm tried PB NL and 303. I don't want anything too shiney looking. I like the way both of these look, but I can't seem to get them right. They look fine on the doors and...

How to use Dakota or BigD odor bombs?

Hey guys. I've got a car that I'm doing that just absolutely reeks. Cleaning the interior helped some, but I've cleaned everything and it still smells. I think someone puked in the car, and it was never cleaned up. It was still on the back seat and under the seat as well. I ordred a couple...

Do I need to remove Ex-p before polishing again?

I have a few areas on a car a did a couple of weekends ago that I need to touch up. I applied Ex-p already to the whole thing. Should I use something to strip the Ex-p before polishing again, or just go at it? Thanks, Steve

    Oxidation

Sorry for asking so many questions guys! :) I searched a bit for this one, but couldn't really find an exact answer. I'm trying to remove some pretty heavy oxidation from a 93 rx7. I don't have any AIO (wish I did) or any Pro Polish. I do have PwC, ssr2.5, 2, 1, and some DACP. I started...

When is a car too bad to clay?

I'm doing a detail for someone with a extremely neglected car right now. Half the car is oxidized and looks almost pink in color. I started last night and washed and used the clay bar. It almost felt like I was rubbing the car with a rock. I was a little scared that I was going to scratch...

I'm disappointed w/ my pc results

Hey guys, not sure if this is in the right section or not, so feel free to move it. I've been around here for a while, mostly reading and learning. I've done basic detailing on my own cars for years. (Basic washing, waxing, interior, etc.) I just recently got a pc, and have been practicing a...

    93 Rx7 - Need opinions

Hey guys. I'm going to be detailing my boss's Rx7 in the next couple of weeks. It looks to me like it's got some oxidation. The one headlight and the mirrors are in bad shape. The rest of the car is kind of nasty except for the front bumper, which was just recently painted. It sits out in...

    First time with the PC

Well I got my PC last week and went to work on my Eclipse. I don't have any before pictures, but the car was pretty clean in the first place. I wasn't really sure what I was doing with it. I used a yellow pad and Meg's #80. I probably should have used something a little more abrasive...

    Newb here!

Hello all. I just joined and have been reading alot over the last few days. All of your posts and before and after pics have gotten me pretty excited to start trying some of this. I've been kind of "detailing" cars for friends for awhile now. All by hand, but never anything like what I see...
