    Cleanign chrome-ish plastic trim?

I'm not even sure what to call it so my searches have been, for the most part, fruitless. I'm talking about the chrome plastic trim that goes around the windows. I was wondering what would be the best thing to clean it and shine it. Here's the trim I'm talking about: Uploaded with...

    Polish abrasiveness comparison

I remember someone had posted a chart comparing the abrasiveness of the different polishes but I can't find it. Maybe my searching skills ain't so good. :nixweiss Anyone have it?

Not even Wheel Brightener could get it off!

In a previous thread I posted about some really bad BMW wheels with spokes I had to clean. They hadn't been cleaned in years. Baked on brake dust and tar and who knows what. I knew I was in for a chore so I picked up to Meg's Wheel Brightener figuring that stuff can take off anything. I...

Where do I start with these wheels?

Sorry, no pictures yet but I will put some up tonight. These are wheels from a BMW and they have several years of brake dust and tar on them. I don't think they've ever been really cleaned so the stuff is probably baked on. I hit them with some Armor All Triple Action and that just...

How do I take better pics?

I'm having trouble capturing some of the paint defects on my wife's car (pitting). Are there any tips on taking better pictures of car paint such as camera settings, lighting etc? I'm using a digital camera. Thanks!

Should I keep trying or just give up? Pics.

My wife's hood looks like the moon. Lots of pits. I just hit it with a 4" orange LC and SSR2.5 and didn't even touch them. I did create some nice swirls though and turned my pads black. :hmph: Should I jump up to a yellow pad and SSR3 (I'll have to go buy them) or am I just not going to be...

Picked a new vac and my first interior detail!

I couldn't figure out how to change the title in my original post. . . Here's what it came down to: Ridgid 4050 4 Gallon 5.0 HP (Home Depot $69): Pluses: 1. Tons of great reviews from everyone on this board and many other boards. 2. Lifetime warranty! 3. Great suction...

Can I add glaze now and reseal?

I just polished my wife's black 4Runner last week. After polishing I finished with Meg's #26. Since I didn't get all the swirls out, I'd like to add a layer of a good glaze filler and then Collinite 845. Can I just add the glaze and then Collinite or do I need to do something with the paint...

What am I doing wrong? Take a look. . .

I'm using Menzerna's IP on an orange light cutting pad. This is what I'm seeing: 1. The first time I go over it the product seems to disappear. 2. Then it starts to dust. 3. I squirted some QD spray on the pad so it wouldn't dust but then it did this: That clumped stuff is...

    Light scratches: PwS or IP?

My BMW has some light scratches and swirls. I was thinking of using PwS with a cutting pad for removal. I also have Menzerna's IP that I could use with a polishing pad. Would the IP be too aggressive? I want to get out the scratches/swirls but I don't want to damage the paint. Thanks.

How do I put pictures in my post?

I have some pics but when I try to upload as an attachment I get message that "upload failed". Is there another way to add them? Can't find anything in the FAQ. :wall Thanks.

Newbie: Just need a little guidance. Pics.

I'm pretty new at this. My first challenge will be my wife's truck. Here are some pics: 2002 Toyota 4Runner I don't know if the pictures capture it well but it's not in the best of shape. This is what planning to use so far: 1. PC 7424 6.5" with flexible backing plate 2. CCS Pads...
