Gtechniq G1 ClearVision application issues. Really difficult to remove residue

Holy crap, I`ve never gotten a workout trying to remove residue like I just did. My car is in my garage where it`s probably 80 degrees. Glass was cool to the touch. I applied 3 layers of G1 and let it sit for 15 minutes, per the instructions. I came back with the G2 on the supplied applicator...

really struggling with paint inspection / swirl detection

both of my cars are a dark grey with metallic flake I`m a bit of a tactical flashlight guy and have some nice LED lights. They don`t seem to help at all, even when held at 45 degrees. I bought a cheap worklight, which doesn`t seem to help. I try it in direct sunlight, which gives the best...

Decon/clay on a new car - little to no contamination? Is this possible?

I`m not sure if I`m being paranoid, but I used a couple of new products and wanted to hopefully get some reassurance. Wife just got a brand new car. We`ve had it about 2 weeks and it stays in a garage at home and at work. I foamed it today, washed, then used Iron-X. I saw just a few purple...

CQUK3.0 on wheels and glass, or get dedicated products?

My wife just got a new car, and I`m looking to coat the whole car. I previously used McKees` dedicated paint, wheel, and glass coatings. The glass and paint coatings seemed good, but I came across the CQUK kit with Gliss and Reload and want to try it out. My questions: would you use CQUK on...

I think I'm installing holograms on my car - what am I doing wrong?

My wife's car was recently repaired, and the body shop was kind enough to hologram the side of her car for me. I took my GG with HD Uno on an orange pad to it. I'd say I initially had an 80-90% improvement in the holograms and most small swirls that I could see with my flashlight. I was...

What are the limits on APC uses?

I've seen plenty of people use dilutions on everything from interiors to wheel wells to engines, but what can APC not be used for? Wheels? Stripping wax from paint? What is not advisable to use APC on? What's it not particularly good for? (this is Meg's APC+ if that matters)

EZ Detail brush - full size or mini?

Which one do you think is more useful all-around, both for wheels and under the hood? Is the mini one still big enough to be useful for wheel barrels and wheel wells? Of course we'd all ideally have both, but what if you could just have one?

    Is this paint overspray?

My buddy and I were washing his wife's car today when we noticed that nearly the entire car was covered with these very small white/gray spots. The car was in the body shop not too long ago, though he can't recall if these spots were present before that. I tried claying a portion of the...

"Easy Clay" brand clay bars on Amazon - experience? Opinions?

I am going to use ONR as lube so I just need to buy some more clay. I was looking around Amazon and came across a few options including 200g of Meguiar's professional fine or aggressive for ~$20, 226g of Griot's for $20, and 2 different Easy Clay 200g (2x 100g) kits for $13-14. Anyone have...

Not a detail, just a new car looking new.

My wife got a new TSX a couple of weeks ago. Washed and Klasse'd it today, so I thought I'd snap some pics.

No beading during wash? Is this normal?

I Klasse twin'd my car last week. It's been beading nicely since then, both in rain last night and when I started to rinse my car to wash it today. After soaping/washing with a microfiber covered sponge, the water wouldn't bead at all. I was wondering if this was normal, or if I was...

Tiny rough spots on plastic panels - sap?

I've got these tiny little white spots on my front & rear bumper, and only on the bumpers, which are the only plastic exterior panels. My wife's car had this same stuff on her front & rear bumper, as do many other cars in our parking area, leading me to believe it's some sort of sap...

Waxing basics: How do you know if you're putting enough on?

I'm just your average guy who is trying to maintain his car a little better than he has in the past. I have a very basic issue that I deal with, though. How do you know if you're putting enough wax/sealant on a car instead of too little? For instance, today I put a nice dime-sized amount of...
