    How soft is clearcoat?

I had a rather small but baked on bird dropping on the side of my car. I sprayed it with some waterless wash and wiped with a towel but it didn`t come off. I decided to try the edge of my fingernail on the backside of the MF towel. My fingernail scratched the paint through the towel. PPG...

    HF Hercules forced rotation polisher...

I read that Harbor Freight released a Hercules forced rotation polisher (with cord). The reviews seem good and the price is quite affordable at $119. Might want to check it out.

    Crinkle weave MF towels...

I`ve seen these MF towels with a crinkle texture at Orielly`s and Autozone. They are designed for glass. Tried them out with some Sprayway glass cleaner and they work well. Doesn`t seem to smear like a traditional towel.

    Jay Leno`s ceramic soap...

I saw the Jay Leno ceramic soap at Wal Mart. Price was less than Chemical Guys so I picked it up. It has a nice orange color and is semi-thick. First thing I like is the cap. It`s a pull open cap. I squeezed a bit into the bucket and added water. The directions call for 2-4 ounces per 5 gallon...

    303 Graphene spray wax review...

This is not going to be a traditional review, lots of those out there. I have a 25 year old car with (gasp) single stage paint. You know, the kind that bleeds color when washed(gasp). So I washed, more like scrubbed the car. Then applied 303 graphene spray wax. On white it goes on like a semi...

    McKees SIO2 wash...

Stopped at Advance auto to get some car soap. Was debating between Griots and McKees. The Griots was 64 oz and the McKees was 16 oz. Both priced the same. Based on the dilution ratio, both will provide a similar number of washes. Two things made me lean toward McKees. First the Griots...

    Duragloss Rinseless vs ECH2O...

Both work fine, to me the Duragloss seems bit more slick and less streaky. So I mixed them together. Seems to be a perfect marriage.

Griots Black Satin Tire Coating vs Meguiars Ultimate Black Tire Coating...

I`ve tried both tire products on a couple different vehicles. If sprayed with a heavy application the Griots gives a glossy look, if you wipe it down it will be more matte. The Meguiars is a heavy hitter with a deep black glossy look without the heavy greasy look. If allowed to dry neither will...

    Griots spray tire cleaner...

This is a kick arse product. It works great on tires and dirty wheels. Cuts crud most other wheel cleaners leave behind. Not sure I`d use it on a regular basis on clearcoated wheels.

    Leather Honey Conditioner...

Someone on facebook made a post praising Leather Honey. He owns a 4th gen Fbody which are notorious for having cardboard leather seats. So I figured that since this was a family owned business, I`d give the product a try. This product looks like a clear syrup. It`s suggested to soak it in warm...

    303 Graphene review...

Found a bottle of the 303 Graphene at Advance Auto. I grabbed it just to see if it lives up to the hype. Here`s my opinion. First I applied it to an applicator. It has a blackish hue to the product and stained the applicator, no big deal, I guess. Application is easy, it just glides smoothly. it...

Mothers CMX 3 in 1 polish

I saw the Mothers CMX 3 in 1 polish at WalMart. $14 for 16 oz. Price is pretty good for a OTC product. I think this is probably comparable to Dr Beasley`s Z1 but less expensive. I`m not sure that it`s a true AIO type product. As for durability, I can`t comment because I`m simply reviewing it as...

    Mothers CMX wash

I found this on discount at my local Advance Auto. It`s a really think liquid and it doesn`t suds a lot, which really isn`t an issue. The lubricity is really good and the water beading after washing is nice and tight. This is a really good SIO2 soap.

Mothers Back To Black Trim Restorer...

I picked up a bottle of the Mothers Trim Restorer to try on some hard textured plastic. Nothing I`ve used as worked very well on this particular plastic. I applied some to a MF towel and rubbed it on. I didn`t see much in the way of black transfer to the towel but that might have been that I...

    Griots yellow bottle complete compound...

For a hobby detailer who doesn`t need bulk sizes, the Griots complete compound is a nice choice. Decent cut depending on the pad. Paired with a MF pad this stuff cuts through moderate defects. Good working time and doesn`t dust.

    Turtle Wax trim restorer...

Saw the TW trim restorer on the shelf at my local WalMart. It was cheap enough at $7 to try. Previously I used Mothers Back To Black. Initially it looked good but over 4 weeks has started to fade a bit. I grabbed a cheap MF and applied this thickish liquid on it and rubbed it on textured black...

    Long throw pad experiment...

I Have the Bauer 21mm polisher. It came with a 6.5 inch polishing pad. I saw a video where Apex tried that pad and immediately set it aside. The first time I tried it, it pulled and jumped and skipped. I set it aside and tried a different pad which was much smoother. After reading a bit about...

    Carpro ECH20

I tried ECH20 as a rinseless wash today. I used two cap fulls of product to about 1.5 gallons of water. Seemed to work pretty decent. Removed easily and no streaking. I used a sponge so it`s hard to judge slickness but when I wiped with a MF it didn`t seem grabby. Did I use enough or not enough...
