    Dust build-up between polishing/waxing/buffing

Hi, I'm in need of some detailing advice. I have a black car and as you all know, it shows a lot of dust. What I notice during my detailing session is between the different stages, even after drying from a full wash, there would be a build-up of dust on the paint surface. Is it safe to...

    Mini Spring Detail

My first click & brag thread, but i don't know if is worthy or not. I'll let you guys be the judge. My detail consist of exterior wash and wax, and interior cleanup. Before: After: (Sun was setting, so didn't have a chance to get a full shot under the sun) Thanks!

    Marring from claybar!!!

I was working on a 6 months old Yaris today, and i thought i give it a good clay because it has never been clayed for the 6000km it has on the odo. The paint was in fairly good condition with minimal marring. After claying the hood using Meg's mild clay, i noticed random marring where i had...

    Hitachi Rotary Loop Handle

Just received my SP18VA from Boss Tools. One question. I was not able to find the loop handle that's shown on the diagram. I was under the impression that it comes with the unit, correct? I have the bolts and nuts though. Is the handle an optional equipment?

    Time b/w layering

How long do you guys wait before applying a second (or third) layer of wax? Is it the same for sealants? What about glaze (ie. Meg. #7)? I know that Zaino uses ZFX to accelerate the cure time, but what about other waxes/sealants?

    Neglected Camry, need advice!

This car belongs to my uncle, it is a 96 Camry with approx 220k km on the odo. He isn't here half the year, so let's just say he doesn't really care about the condition of the paint. Since he is away right now, i borrowed his car and practice some techniques with my PC. I've never worked on...

    Meguiars #26 Liquid Wax

I recently discover that my local Canadian Tires has this product in stock, along with #6, #7, and #46 (something like that). It is rare for me to see because they do not usually carry the Meg's Professional Line. My question is, how does this wax stack up to other (i.e. NXT) and is it worth...

    First attempt at swirl removal.

Was working on a friend's protege last night. Apparantely, her dad used to use old pieces of clothing to dry the car. Needless to say, swirl was abundant! :waxing: Anyway, onward to the detail. I used Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover with a LC Orange pad to attack the swirls. Most of the...

I have two problems on my car right now, but dont know what products to used? 1) Black trim above console. I left a anti-slip mat on that spot, and after baking in the sun, it turned like this. :doh 2) Small scratches on front lip. I hit an icebank on the side of the road last...

    Applying wax by hand?

What does 'thin' mean/look like, when applying wax? I usually apply wax by hand, and i never go over the same spot twice. Is that the correct way of applying wax? Does anyone have a pic of what a 'thin' layer of wax look like before it is buffed off?

    ONR user?

I finally tried my new bottle of ONR yesterday. It took me longer than it should, but the product itself was excellent. It left a slick surface for my wax to go on, and i was very impressed. I would like to know one thing. My 'designated' MF wash towel was filthy after +/- half a car...

    Clay barring

How often do i need to clay bar? Would it be safe on the paint if i wash and dry, and then go straight to the polishing and waxing steps without clay barring?
