I am getting some 1000P and some Pink Wax. I have a bright red SVT Focus. I am going to layer some 1000P but I am curious what goes well on top of the 1000P. I have 845IW, Meg's 26, and will have the Pink Wax soon. Also, I may mist some Aquawax on after washes. Who knows!
Any opinions on good...
Maybe it's just me but I always stop for a second and ask myself "did he just say cleanse"? No offense to anyone here, and maybe I am alone in this pet peeve, but when someone says cleansed instead of cleaned, I wonder for a moment if they are detailing or exorcising.
Hey guys, my newest car came from a previous owner who was (sooo fortunately) VERY meticulous. Never been through an automatic car wash or anything. Anyway, that's all irrelevant.
The car has Recaro leather seats. I don't know a LOT about leather care, but I know Leather Masters and...
According to some guys on the MOL board, this is between the two wool Solo pads in aggressiveness. I'm not a huge fan of the yellow solo wool pad.
I am wondering HOW aggressive this is. I don't want something that is overkill on 95% of cars, but would like something that runs cool on rotary...
Hey guys. haven't detailed anything since last summer. Probably wouldn't do anything but my cars this summer, but a friend is wanting me to work on his pretty swirly black A8.. I believe about a 2000. The only other Audi I've even messed with was a much newer A4 and it wasn't really responding...
Hey, is there something as high-quality and consistent as Unigrit that doesn't come only in huge packs? I don't mind the ~$1/sheet cost, but don't wanna buy 20+ sheets per pack, especially when I need a small amount of two different grits.
No, I don't polish by hand, I'm just wanting something that cuts well and finishes well by hand for behind door handles. My dad has so many scratches behind the handles on his Highlander.. can't for the life of me figure how they were put there by the previous owner.
I've seen a few people on here that tape the edges of panel gaps, like between say.. the door and the fender, or hood and fender. I understand that any edge can burn easier than a flat surface.. but what do I need to know as far as safety in this concern? Obviously MANY guys don't tape every...
I wouldn't mind more in the summer, but I'd like to do just one a weekend during school. What's an effective way to market myself, as I really don't need to pick up TOOOO many customers?
I plan to get a rotary later this summer, but in the meantime, can ultrafina be effectively broken down with just a porter cable? If so, what pad should I use, as I've heard the US only receives the 8" version of the 3m blue (is that right?)?
Mine has about 3 inches of water in the bottom, if you can call it that. It smells like S**T, it's black, and it has tons of paper, plastic, and dead plant scraps in it! Where do you dump yours?
Halogens have worked great on all the dark cars I've done, but lately I keep working on silver or light metallics with alot of flake and the halogens are ALMOST worthless. At JUST the right angle I see the swarms of imperfections, but tons of heavy swirls are almost invisible in the glare of the...
I have both of these, and maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but I don't see a visual benefit to either of them! What am I missing? Too many people like these products for them to be pointless.
I'm toying with the idea of buying a Makita soon, but for now, only have a PC. I'm looking at maybe detailing a navy Durango for a friend of mine. It's got some significant swirling. I'm wondering who has experience with this paint. Is it soft enough to tackle with a PC? I have pads as...
I wanted to replace my 3M Perfect-It II Fine Cut Rubbing Compound (39002). I needed something that would dust far less, have no harmful silica dust, be more powerful than SSR2.5 or DACP, but flexible enough that it was useful for lots of jobs, not just the most hideous.
I chose Hi-Temp...
This car had bird poop etched all the way through the primer... rusting in some small spots. It had a good amount of swirls everywhere but we completely forgot to take pics under the halogens.
Process - Exterior:
Wash
Clay
DACP
RMG
845
425
Endurance Gel on tires
845 in all door...
What would happen? Sometimes the 3M gums to the pad a little, and it always dusts ALOT, but I love it and it's worked wonders everytime I've used it. It doesn't seem that aggressive to me.. not enough that it really worries me anymore.
What would happen if I mixed it 3M:RMG around 2:1 or 3:1?
