    '06 BMW m3

This is my second time detailing this car and it is still brand new. It was in one of, if not the last shipments of m3 coupes to America. it is shame they will no longer be making these and I am really hoping the upcoming e90 will be amazing! The car was clayed and waxed with p21s about 3...

    3 month Touch Up

I did the full detail on my car about 3 months ago, but since then it has seen some heavy rains, serious dust, and nasty waterspots. It was about time for a touch up and last Thursday evening I finally had a chance. Scratches and swirls were pretty minimal so I decided to go with a 70/30 mix...

    Doing a boat?

I was supposed to detail an M3 this weekend, but when I called to reconfirm, the customer said the M is out, but was wondering if I could do his 23' boat instead. It is a gelcoat and according to him is oxidized. I said I could do the job and quoted him 250. How long do you think this should...

Aston Martin, Purple 350z and an Audi

THe Z was a complete repaint and the paint was in pretty bad shape. Lots of swirls and tons of micromarring from what appeared to be the body shops buffing. I spent about 8 hours on the car and about half way through decided I am getting a rotary! Also, I was reminded yet again of how zaino...

    Imola Red M3

I loooooove this color!!! :bow The car was in great condition overall, but the paint was just in mediocre condition with regards to swirls. The hood, quarter panels, and front and rear bumper were all repainted over the winter. As you can see in the pics, the body shop left some...

Anyone else only do luxury vehicles and sport cars?

I am currently only working weekends, so I obviously don't have as many slots to fill. However, I just can't imagine working on some of the cars I see in the click and brag section. A large part of why I do what I do is that I LOVE the cars I work on. I think the "worse" car I have done is a...

    Travel Fee?

How do you mobile guys charge for travel? I have found myself travelling up to an hour away and ussually charge about $50 if I have to travel that far. When you guys charge a premium for travel do you specifically say what your travel fee is or do you just factor it into the price? I have tried...

    Imola Red M5

I love this color. The more I worked the paint, the more the true color really came out. The car was pretty clean to start with but after polishing, it looked like a new color. Half the car was a repaint and the hood was a botched job. There were a bunch of little cirlular impressions visible...

    Watered Down 425

Am I the only one that does this? I mainly use 425 for removing polishes, clay lube, touch up spots, etc. and have found that mixing it about 50/50 with water does not compromise the results. In fact, I qd'd my entire car today in the sun with this mix and it worked even better than straight 425...

    M3 + 996

Today I detailed a 996 porsche and washed an m3 for a good customer of mine. I believe I posted the m3 a few weeks ago, so I just included 1 pic. I dont think I have posted the porsche yet. The m3 will need a full detail in a month or two as it has been almost 6 months since I last polished it...

    Jaguar

I was amazed at the complete lack of swirls on this car. It hasnt even been washed in 2 months and when it is, its just taken to some generic car wash. I dont know if it is the color, paint, or a little bit of both, but neither in sunlight or halogen lighting could I detect any swirling. I did...

    hiring a friend?

After detailing this beast today http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69006 I started thinking that it might be nice to hire a friend and train them how to do the work as well. I could buy another pc and then we could both polish at the same time cutting down my overal time by a lot. I...

ACS M5 showcar (what a day!)

This was without a doubt the worse swirls I have ever had to remove! THe sad thing is that the car has been "profesionally detailed" twice in the past year  In the end the car came out great and looking like she should. BEFORE: Before hood After hood Before and after...
