Using bug or tar removers with ONR?

I'm new to the ONR game, and curious about using something like a bug or tar remover, or even something like Iron Cut? Can I wash with ONR, spray on the tar remover and rewash with ONR, or is this a time that I'd be better off using a conventional wash and plenty of rinse water? Thanks, Ben

    PDR in Dallas?

Anyone have any experience with anyone in the DFW area? Someone hit my car last night and put just a very small dent in the rear fender with no paint damage, I'm hoping to get a PDR guy to just roll it out. Thanks! Ben

    7424 power died?

I've got a three or four year old 7424 that died today. I was using it with an extension cord, as usual, and while polishing a door on speed 5, it seemed to slow down, picked back up and then stopped entirely. I took the back cover off and checked all of the connections visually (I don't...

    MINI's and vinyl graphics

I'm detailing a friend's MINI soon and he has the Union Jack on the roof. This is a series of vinyl stickers that seem to have a pretty thick edge to them. Is it possible to polish the roof with a PC? I plan on using a cutting pad and Menzerna IP, followed with a polishing pad and FP on the...

Any advantage to AIO under Z2?

First off, I'm a search idiot, I know this has been talked about ad infinitum, I just can't find it with a search. Second, I have been using AIO + SG on my car for awhile and while I'm happy with the look and longevity of SG, I can't help but remember that Zaino is easier to use. I've done...

    SG and water spots

I've recently switched to using the Klasse twins on my car and love it. BUT...I am getting consistent water spots on the hood. They can be easily removed with AIO, but once I get a new layer of SG on there and it rains, the spots are back. I'm almost certain they're new spots, not the same...

    Removing really heavy oxidation

Okay, The proverbial friend of a friend has a nice black late 60's, early 70's Riviera that has pretty badly oxidized paint on the horizontal surfaces. To my eyes, it looks like it's still in good shape, at least it's all there. But it is really porous and grainy. What is the best way to...

    Storing detailing items in summer

Okay, maybe I need a tutorial in searching, but I couldn't find a definitive answer on this. I live in Texas, and have a detached garage, where I store all of my detailing supplies. Needless to say, it gets quite warm in there. Am I harming anything? I have a beer fridge in the garage, and...

    Manicure from cleaning PC pads?!

So, all morning, I've been looking at my shiny finger nails on my right hand trying to figure out if my wife had pulled a joke on me. My right hand has perfectly smooth and shiny finger nails, while my left hand has standard issue guy finger nails. I got to thinking of what I've done...

    Is Collinite available locally?

Specifically, does anyone know of a Collinite vendor in DFW? I'm detailing my grandmother's car and want to go for the longest lasting product available. I currently have Klasse and Blitz, but I'd love to try AIO topped with Collinite, just for durability. This is on a light blue car, and for...

    Klasse and water spots

After applying my first layer of SG, it rained for an extended period and I went three weeks without washing my car. Now that I've had a chance to wash it, it's got pretty bad water spotting everywhere. I QD'd it with Sonus after the wash, but it didn't help the spotting, it does shine great...

    BMW M Rim refinishing

This was started in another thread and it seemed like the wrong place for it, so I thought I'd start a new thread. The original link: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=209877#post209877 The point being that those of us with an M Roadster / Coupe, an E46 M3 or an E39...

    NewB, take 2

Okay, someone may remember that I checked in a few weeks ago when the system went wacky and we lost a few hours. Well, I'll try it again, hopefully the server stays up or I'll take the hint! I've been at this for years, but this is a great find! Nice to have so many similarly obsesessed...
