    Next week, the big buy.

Here's the setup so far. Any Recommendations or Suggestions? I want some input on the tenative shopping list. Polisher: PC 7336 Pads: Edge2000 DA foam pads Polishes: SSR2.5, SSR1, Meguiar's #26 Yellow Wax. How does that sound for a beginner? (I have a totaled '94 Camry to practice on.) Sounds...

    Wash on my friend's '06 X-Type

All the hard work was done on this one. The dealership polished and sealed it for him the day he picked it up. He also keeps the interior clean, so there was nothing to do there. He said just a wash would be fine, he'd rather pay me to do a good job than pay CleanTown or Jerry's to do a crappy...

That nasty detail some of you know about...

Well, as some of you know, yesterday I "detailed" (hardly...) my manager's 12 year old car... that was never washed. Once I got it to my house and saw what I had to work with in only a few hours... It wasn't going to be perfect. She worked from 10:00am to 2:00pm, I had to have it back there by...

    Gnarly job coming this Sunday...

I don't have my PC or supplies yet, so this will be another one by hand. This coming Sunday, my manager from work asked me to do her car. I'll be driving to work, picking it up, bringing it home, and bringing it back at 4 when I work. It's a 1994(?) Chevrolet Lumina. It's blue, its beat. She...

    Forget my other thread...New topic!

What would you recommend for this scenario: Polisher = PC 7336 Pads = Edge 2000 6" DA pads (Probably Green, Blue, and White. Please make a suggestion if these are not the right ones for me.) User = Beginner I want to make the paint reflective, smooth as glass, and make the paint look a mile...

Meg's #9 Light Swirl Remover and Showcar Glaze #7

Are these products any good? I don't want to wait on shipping since I'm getting my polisher this week, and I can buy these in the same trip. I just need some input or reviews from those who have used these previously. Another kind I can get locally is Mother's PowerPolish (Step 1). Any input?

    Exhaust soot?

I have an aftermarket catback on my Jeep, and it has a straight, angle cut tip on it compared to the stock tailpipe that just turned down. It's been on the car for almost 5 years, and I'm beginning to see some faint darkening right above the exit of the tip. What will take this off? (I'm open...

    PC 7336 Questions

The local Lowe's has a PC 7336... but they claim it's a random orbit sander, and can be converted to a polisher. What would I need for the conversion? Another question: Will products for the 7424 fit the 7336? For example, Edge Buffing pads and their adapter? I hear there is basically no...

    Question

What do you use to get the hard to reach, yet visible places clean? There seems to be a bit of dirt sitting on top of where the valve covers meet the engine block. I hosed in there, but they didn't seem to budge. I couldn't fit any brushes in there either. What to do? Sub topic: I saw this...

    Meguiar's QID Review

Sorry guys, no pics on this one, I was too excited to see how it worked and tried it as soon as I got home today. My interior isn't very dirty, but the dash, console, and surrounding areas were beginning to look a little streaky and crappy looking from some interior wipes I used a while back...

    Now... In search of pads.

Still don't have a Polisher yet, but I want to start looking for what I want when I do get one. The only pads I have really looked at are The Edge. They look good, but the only thing that scares me is the hole in the middle where they connect to the polisher. Are there pads out there without...

What is the best DA/Orbital buffer out there?

I'm looking to invest in a DA polisher this summer, because I hear the DA is easier to use, and has less potential to harm the paint. What are everyone's thoughts? How would the PC 7424 be? That's the one I've been looking at.

Turtle Wax F21 Super car wash

It's soap. It's green... and was a dollar cheaper than the Meguiar's 32 oz. bottle, and got 64 oz. I like it. I also had a gallon of Gold Class that lasted me through half the summer last year, I liked it. but for a dollar cheaper and twice the amount, I think it was worth it.

    Used the Meg's Clay Kit.

What can I say other than awesome. Claying is such an easy process to do, and it makes a big difference. You can see the sh*t on the clay too, I liked that. Used the supplied QD as lube, and the MF towel that was included to wipe off.

    Have a few questions.

First, if anyone can help me out with this: http://www.detailcity.org/forums/detailing-clay-and-clay-lubricant/17537-bought-meguiars-clay-kit.html Next, the Meg's clay kit came with cleaner wax. Since 90% of everything I use is off the shelf at Pep Boys, will A coat of the cleaner wax, then a...

    Bought Meguiar's Clay kit.

And I'm a newb to this whole clay thing. I have a few questions. -How often should I fold/knead the clay? -How much lubrication is required? -How do I know when to pitch the clay, does it get "used up?" -Will the 50 g bars last through more than one car? (These were way tinier than what I was...

    OK to power wash engine?

My dad is renting one tomorrow to powerwash our deck and driveway. Would it be okay to spray the engine down with dish soap/water solution, and give it a spray? I will stand back... I don't need 1500 PSI tearing the engine apart. Is it okay to do this?
