SRP/Glanz update & my new project!

Update on the combo I tried last weekend. I've covered over 750 miles this week including a trip to the middle of nowhere via several farmyards so she was, ahem, a little mucky.:D Washed with 1Z Perls and added a 2nd coat of Glanz today then followed Richt's advice and topped one side with...

    spit shine - first attempt

Prepped car using RMG/YCM and SSR2 & 2.5 where needed by PC. 2 coats of WG and I then followed Nick T's instructions for spit shining using Souveran. I really enjoyed doing this if it doesn't sound too strange (mind you, this is autopia :) ) and I found it relatively simple. Hard to say at this...

    SRP & Glanz experiment

Very pleased with this combination on silver. Application by hand using foam pads for both the SRP and Glanz wax. Glass NXT glass cleaner:up good stuff indeed. Wheels SRP, tyres 4* x 2 and wheelwells Neilsen Flair. The SRP & Glanz work well together IMHO - leave a nice wet finish

    Black Magic products

New to me in the UK - anyone have any experiences with them? I picked up some tyre swipes and wax applicators and the store I got them from (my second choice Meguiars stockist after Alex) had a fairly extensive range of brushes, MF's and so on.

    Spray bottle storage ideas

As I guess many of you will, I've accumulated a lot of spray bottles (QD, APC, tyre cleaners, glass cleaner etc etc) and they're currently all in the bottom of one of my cabinets which is a PITA to get them out, put them away again. Maybe I'm just lazy but has anyone got/seen any kind of...

    Rotary practice!

Thought I'd try my rotary on my wheels as they're currently off the car whilst I paint the wheelwells. The centres are supposed to be machined and lacquered but 16 years have taken their toll and the laqcuer's started peeling/flaking. Ideally they need a refurb but for now I figured I'd try...

    maintaining a WG finish

I have to take my car to have its new suspension fitted tonight. Fingers crossed the weather stays reasonably dry as I've just put 4 layers of WG on it. I have most of the usual shampo suspects but has anyone had particularly good results with a single soap on a WG prepped car...

    Autoglym Super Sheen

Richt very kindly let me try this tyre dressing at the weekend and I thought I'd post a brief report as the car's since covered close to 500 miles in a mixture of warm sunny weather and heavy rain, minor roads and motorways. In appearance it's a slightly oily feeling clear yellow liquid. I...

    Z16 - disappointed

I decided to try Z16 after seeing GSRStilez's recent post. I followed his suggested method - ie EO A2Z to clean tyres, dry, apply Z16, leave for 30 minutes minimum and remove any residue. I also applied UPP gel to my GF's car at the same time. Z16 was done within 3 days:eek: No sheen...

    Review of Carlack 68 polish

I've not read any discussion about actual use of this product before so I'm not sure whether anyone else has used it. Several other UK Autopians mentioned that Carlack 68 is virutally the same as AIO, the main difference being the packaging (bright yellow 1000mls contained). It's described...
