    Orange juice stains

I'm having a problem, and was wondering if someone had encountered this before. I'm working on a car with cloth interior that has several small spots of orange juice that was spilled about a month ago. I tried using a small amount of Eimann Fabrik Upholstery Cleaner, letting the spot soak...

    Any detailers in Sunnyvale, CA?

I've got a co-worker in San Jose (I'm in NC) that needs a detailer. I figured we'd keep the business in the Autopia family. Anyone working near Sunnyvale? If so, can you just PM me? Thanks, David

    MF's at BJ's.....$9.99/dozen!!

For all of us that have a BJ's Warehouse Club in their area, they have a dozen 12"x12" MF towels for $9.99! They passed the cd test, but I only intend to use them for door jambs, glass, and interior. The smaller size is nice, but even better is the price! Works out to just 90 cents a piece!

    My weekend with GEPC/#7/#20/#26

Here's the way I spent my weekend.......well, not the whole weekend, but a lot of it! I drive a 2001 Ford Taurus SES with a 24V Duratec. It's been a good car, and given my habit for changing cars every six months, it's received the maximum amount of detailing. The car is Harvest Gold...

I'm still laughing about this one....

Hopefully, this will brighten your Monday as much as it did mine. I needed an item for my Suburban, so I headed over to the local Chevy dealer. I purchased what I needed from the parts counter, then decided to take a look around the lot. I came upon an '03 50th Anniversary Edition...

PC7424 + wool pad vs. rotary buffer

For the most part, my detailing consists of using a PC7424 and various foam pads. However, I've been approached by a customer who has 2 cars with paint in terrible condition. I tried a yellow cutting pad with Meguiar's DACP, and still a great deal of water spots/scratches remained. This...

    DACP leaving a white residue?

Maybe Mike P. from Meguiar's can chime in on this one. I was using a new bottle of DACP the other day on a '00 Z3, and several hours later I noticed a white residue on a couple of body seams. Now, I've used DACP quite a bit in the past, but swear that I didn't have any residue. Does DACP...

    3 questions for Z3 owners

    1) What are you using to clean/protect your convertible tops? 2) What have you had success with cleaning/protecting your plastic window? And is that the same product you'd use on your headlight covers? 3) What's recommended for the dash? Any and all feedback is appreciated!!

DACP vs. Perfect-It III: Which is better?

Does anyone have a great deal of experience with these two products? I've used DACP a bunch, but have only used PI-III two times. It seemed to me that the PI-III gave better results, but since the results were actually on two different cars, that's tough to say.

    Scratches on a '69 Camaro

I recently was asked by a client to detail his '69 Camaro. The car has an older repaint (He thought it was done in '88 or '89) that for the most part is in good shape. It's LeMans Blue, and when I was visually inspecting it, I could see scratches in the paint. The car has no clear coat, and...

3M Perfect-It III Machine Glaze for non-clear coated cars?

Has anyone used 3M's PI-3 MG for single stage paint jobs? Since I've already got it on the shelf, I'd like to use it on a job I have coming up this weekend. The paint on the car is in pretty decent shape, with a little bit of oxidation and a few light scratches. It's a '72 Trans Am...

    Klasse AIO layering question

Is it ever necessary to use multiple layers of AIO? Or should the multiple layers be saved for SG? And let's assume that you do have multiple layers of SG, can you still top with P21S? Thanks, DavidM

Going straight from DACP to P21S

Is it recommended to go straight from DACP to P21S's GEPC? Or should I do a step of SMR after the DACP? The car in question is a dark gray Acura. The paint is kinda tough, though there are no swirl marks, just a fair amount of oxidation and staining. I'm using DACP because it's on my...
