Last time I applied conditioner, I used a MF applicator. I put a few pea sized dots on the applicator, and worked it in the leather. Is this the correct way or do I use a foam app. and sort of let the conditioner soak onto the leather, then wipe off the excess?

My Pakshak ulta-plush, ultra-fines have two sides, one is more plush and has loosely woven strands. The other side has a tigher nap. I am assuming the plusher side is for cleaning and applying wax/sealant/polish/washing with ONR, etc., then the less plush side is for the final buff/pass?
