Polymer Net Shield on trim? Also, 2nd coat?

Can PNS be safely used on trim or will it stain?  If it can be used on trim, I assume it must be applied and then removed quickly.    After the first coat has cured, is it worth applying a second coat?  The bottle is small, so I don't want to waste product if there's little gain.     TIA

    Good mitt for ONR washing

I stumbled across this shaggy-style MF mitt while shopping at Home Depot. It's a nice size (basically hand size) and seems well made. I've been using MF covered sponges (the white ones from Target) for ONR washes, and they worked OK, but this mitt is much better, IME. It glides across the...

    Nano-Diamond Shield?

Anyone ever heard of this or used it? I saw it in Pep Boys today... Nano-Diamond Shield | Nano-Particle Automotive Protection IIRC, it's $29.99. The bottle claims a spray on/wipe off application, 4-H hardness and one year durability. In the video, it beads like crazy.

Surf City Garage...a couple of reviews

I recently purchased two Surf City Garage products...Speed Demon Wax Detailer and Beyond Black Tire Pro tire dressing. Both are excellent. The BBTP Tire dressing is the best tire dressing I've ever used. It spreads easily/evenly and looks great...not too matte, not too glossy, and no...

    Review: Meguiar's UQD

    * I added this to the review section, but I thought I'd share it here, too. Just tried UQD for the first time. The other QD's I currently use are #425, DG Marine Detailer, Z6 and a few others. I never really liked Meguiar's fine mist sprayer, but you get used to it. It's fine for use...

DG 521 Detail Spray.. better than I expected

I've gotta say, I'm really impressed with DG 521 Marine/RV Detail Spray. I mentioned in another thread how easily 521 applies.. it really does. My FK #425 drags with certain terry MF towels, 521 just glides over the surface. It clears out easily and feels wonderfully slick/rich afterward...

High end detailer on 5th Gear

The 04/17/06 episode of 5th Gear profiles a high end detailer who shows you some of his routine and a look at his 6K Pound Wax. He's working on a Maserati MC12 (Maserati's version of the Ferrari Enzo). Hope you enjoy it. It's a torrent file so you need something like BitTornado to...

    JEFF'S Werkstatt, great service!

I want to send a thanks out to Jeff at JEFF'S Werkstatt for his superior service. While checking my shipment with FedEx's Tracking service, I was notified that FedEx damaged my package of Jeff's products and was returning the package to Jeff. I emailed Jeff about the problem at 4:30 this...

    New(?) EO 20/20

I recently picked up some Eagle One 20/20 glass cleaner, it's in the newly styled bottle with the silver sprayer. It seems like they changed the formula...and not for the better. The new 20/20 I bought is kinda sudsy when wiped and streaks horribly. The original formula worked so well...

    Poorboy's Spray and Wipe

I started using this product a short time ago and must say I like it. Leaves behind a clean natural finish, clean smell, too. On occasion, however, I have noticed some minor streaking. I'm using what I would consider an appropriate amount of product on a cool surface with a terry style MF...

    Spots(?) from Perfect-It II RC

Hi Guys, After using 3M Perfect-It II Rubbing Compound, I see these tiny spots/dots that I'm unable to remove. They're seen in places where I've used the product by hand and by PC. Has anyone encountered these? How can I remove them? I've gone over the finish with a PC, polishing pad and...

    New Zymol Detail

I was in Advance Auto Parts and noticed a new(?) Zymol QD called Detail. It cost about $7, which is less expensive than their Field Glaze (about $15, I think). I haven't used Zymol products for a long time (currently use P21S and Pinnacle), but it had me curious. Anyone try it?

    5 Star Shine

Recently stumbled accross this product www.5starshine.com Anyone heard of them or tried it? 5 years worth of protection. They claim the Military uses it for salt air/water protection. Website's interesting.

    Autoderm Wax, anyone try it?

Saw their add in one of my mags. www.autodermcarcare.com offers paint re-hydrating wax. They claim carnauba waxes (except theirs) contain mineral spirits (all of Autopia knows this, of course) which remove oils from the finish, dulling it; and, that leaving them on too long before removing...

    BF-2 on glass

I recently applied BF-2 to my car's glass and the results were fantastic. Without exaggeration, when I drove the car, the glass (albeit, relatively new glass) all but disappeared from view. I actually could not believe the difference. Application was easy, but it was a little difficult...

    Layering carnauba...advice needed.

When you apply repeated coats of carnauba with the intent to layer it, do you apply the successive coats with your regular amount of applicator pressure (I use foam), or, try to almost dab it on, in an attempt to leave as much of the base coat intact as possible? Wondering if carnauba layers...

    Pinnacle Crystal Mist

Just tried Pinnacle Crystal Mist today. It does a great job, however, when I tried to apply it with a MF towel (CMA Miracle Towel), it seemed to drag on/cling to the paint until I flipped the MF towel to remove the residue, then the resulting finish was very smooth and the MF towel moved...

    One Grand Show-Off QD/PE

Tried a different combination the other day. I always liked the depth and color the One Grand Blitz Wax gave my black paint, however, I didn't appreciate the disproportional amount of dust accumulation compared to other waxes, such as P21S. I currently have P21S on the car, and, while it...
