Good LSPs for high humidity application???

Here's what I've got... Collinite IW and Fleetwax AIO/SG #16 Does anyone have any experience with these in high humidity? I've read that some have problems with SG in humid situations. Does the humidity affect the wax based products as well? I also have #26 which I like, but this...

    Really expensive waxes...

I've seen brief, passing mentions occasionally of some pretty expensive waxes. Like hundreds of dollars expensive. It seems like the priciest product used regularly on this board is Souveran. What are some of these waxes, and is there any real benefit to paying that kind of Pebble Beach...

meg's polishes and compounds without fillers

Is there a list somewhere of Meg's polishes and compounds without fillers? I have an opportunity to purchase Meg's full line at 30% off their website's prices and I want to stock up before spring. The only Meg's products I've used are #16, #26 and #7. I've used 3m for polishes. Thanks...

    HORROR Show!!!!!!

I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of the new Maserati dealership in NYC last Friday night. The showroom is gorgeous, the cars are awesome (I especially like the Quattroporte) and the models they had draped over the cars were very pleasing to look at too. The horror was the...

    Wheel Protection???

I've orderded repro wheels for my wife's 2000 Passat wagon. Hers were shot, road rash, two were out of round, etc. Is it a futile excercise applying any sort of protectant to them? Will it really make a difference in releasing brake dust and dirt? Or should I just clean them with wheel...

Fillers and alcohol wipe vs. non-fillers?

Ive read a number of posts where people are using a polish that has fillers. They'll polish, wipe with alcohol to remove the fillers and then move on to the next step or polish some more if imperfections remain. That seems like an extra step. Is there an advantage to this? Why not just use...

    Collinite Fleetwax over #7

After doing this and that (compounding/polishing the whole car, sanding, compounding/polishing the front clip) to my 1968 black single stage Galaxie, it was time to get it ready for it's winter outside. Since the front clip was already done (#7 and #26), I just polished the top and trunk lid...

    Klasse kicked my a**e (almost)

After reading EVERY Klasse post on the board, I decided it was time to use the twins on my wife's 2000 metallic black Passat wagon. The paint was in pretty good shape for having made it through 3 CT winters, 90,000 miles, one claying, two waxings and hardly ever washed. I started with FPII...

    Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl

What has been your experience with Clear Pearl. I tried a search on clear pearl and didn't get a whole lot of product specific responses... maybe because I couldn't search on CP. Anyway, it seems from the posts I saw that a carnauba lsp would prefer a qd with some carnauba in the formula...

    #16 available locally???

Has anyone found #16 locally? I'm getting killed in shipping lately, and $8.00 to ship a $12 can of wax kind of bums me out. Jason

    Meg's #7/#26 combo VEERRRY smeary!!

Holy cow!! I wetsanded, compounded, polished, glazed and waxed the hood and fenders of my 68 Galaxie ss black. OMG, it looks fabulous. No orange peel, super smooth paint and a ridiculously deep shine. I used #7 with a white pad and the pc. I let it sit for 20 minutes, buffed it off (kind...

Longest lasting protectant on SS black?

I've had a great time buffing out my 68 galaxie with ss black paint. I even wetsanded the trunk with great results after getting fabulously shiny orangepeel the first time around. Here's the problem... the car is outside, and while the #7/#26 combo made the car look better than I imagined...

total newbie Q... quick detailer uses??

I have used quick detailer for one thing only... quick detailing. Fingerprints, bird poo, smudges, etc. on an otherwise fairly clean car. I've been reading about all sorts of other uses for it. Pad lubrication for applying polish/wax is one, but it seems from some posts that some people use...

    WOO, WOWO, Bill's Method???????

I'm about to pick up the Klasse twins and in my research I've come across WOO in reference to SG. After doing searches on WOO method and Bill, I got a lot of threads and posts REFERING to the "WOO Method" but NONE actually explaining what the heck it is. All those posts are useless to me...

Swirl Mark Removers... they don't actually REMOVE the swirls, do they?

The more I read, the more I realize that swirl mark removers (#9, 3M SMR, etc) don't actually remove swirls, but fill them. Classic's description of #9 says "Because it does not remove the layer of paint that contains the swirl, swirls may reappear as the wax ages. " SMR's label says "glaze"...

    3M Hookit vs Hookit II

Which pads do I want for use with my PC 6 inch holder? I think I'm going to try their Finishing Film discs to knock down the orange peel on my black single stage Galaxie. I know one has the hooks on the pad and the other has the hooks on the holder, but my dyslexia prevents me from...
