    Picture of new ride

OK, bare paint, unwaxed. It's that satiny pearl white; I really like the "eggshell" look. I let the kid wash it with a fresh mitt and fresh water. I told him not to wax it; I'm going to do it this weekend anyhow. He did the wheels, tires, glass and interior. Ben's a good detailer. His dad owns...

    Mosca's new ride

So, remember all the input you guys gave me when I was asking? I was going to get a 1 year old off-lease Malibu Maxxx... until I drove one. Nothin' wrong with the way it handled. It had plenty of power. But I just didn't like it. It wasn't comfortable for me. I didn't like the thing on...

Pitchers and catchers report soon (flash game)

In honor of pithcers and catchers reporting soon, here's a little game to see if you have the reaction time it takes to hit a fastball... http://www.exploratorium.edu/baseball/reactiontime.html Most of mine were between .3 and .4, I got a couple below .3 but not good enough for anything...

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet...

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says, "My dog's cross-eyed, Is there anything you can do for him?" "Well," says the vet, "let's have a look at him." So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth. Finally, he says, "I'm going to have to put him down." "What...

Eagle 1 "Bucket Free Car Wash"?

Saw it in the Auto Zone flyer today. Anyone know anything about it? Could be like PB S&W, or it could be like Mother's Bucketless (spray shampoo that requires the car to be wetted). Tom

LOL, ordeal installing satellite receiver and TiVo

It all started with my sister sending us a TiVo unit for Christmas. Now, I don't watch TV, except for The Apprentice, because Trump is the Elvis of New York and of Our Time. So, I couldn't care less about TV, or satellites, or TiVo. But, I liked the idea of being able to record some of the...

Some "how to"s; how to use #83, the Menzernas, and how to make the PC do rotary work

I had an opportunity to help a pal today. Lee, a good guy (hi Lee!) asked me to stop over some day and show him some things about correcting paint defects; he has been considering a PC, but doesn't want to drop the $$ if it doesn't do what everyone says (ie, live up to the hype is a good way to...

do you wash your mf towels before first use?

Those of you who know mf, should you do this? Do you do it yourself? I think they work better if you wash them, with just a half-dose of Restore and lots of water, then tumble dry on low. Tom

The bag from the Target Xmas gift set is perfect for...

It holds the PC, plate, 3 pads, 2 16 oz Meg's size bottles, one 32 oz Meg's size bottle, a few mfs, and a couple mf bonnets. Or 2 six packs of brew, so maybe 2 bags are better than one. Tom

A little bit about using NXT Spray successfully

I'll start by saying that I really disliked this product at first; I thought it was a waste of money. But I stuck with it, and now I can share some tips. It really is a good product, but it's also finicky until you figure it out; then it's easy. Starting with a clean, dry car, spray the wax...

    Sigh; gotta buy a car.

Well, I don't HAVE to, but the insurance deductible on our demos just went to $5000, and I don't feel comfortable with that, no siree. Just so everyone knows, it's not any easier doing this even if you work at a dealership. Yes, I have no problem getting a good deal, but it''s not any fun...

The Wen cordless; any feedback? And, specific Qs.

First, I know it's not going to be a tool for serious damage control, but who's used it, and is it acceptable for use in areas with no juice? Second, is the Wen the same tool that Meguiar's sells, and is it the same one that DavidB reviewed perhaps a year or two ago? Third, if so, then the...

    Big ol' Cyclo just arrived....

Cool. On/off, huh? Not the most informative thread you're gonna find today, but I like the device. It looks like a gym bag or a doctor's bag would make a good holder for the tool & pads. I think I'm polishing tomorrow. Yes I am. Tom

    NEW Gold Class, first impressions

I'll preface by saying that my car doesn't NEED to be waxed, it looked great before GC, so any impressions about appearance are useless. However... New GC smells the same as old GC, which to me is a good thing. I like the cherry-vanilla smell. I applied the product using a G-100 (PC)...

    NEW Meguiar's Gold Class Formula??????

I was down the big K tonight, looking for Martha Stewart items on sale, and like always I meandered over to the automotive section to see what might be new or on sale. And there, side by side, are the OLD Gold Class package and the NEW Gold Class package, with new coloration and pictures...

    Stuf'd my ride today

I was going to Klasse it, but I picked up the Stuf instead. I QEW'd, then Stuf'd. For those who've used it, you know what I got. For those who haven't used it, it's a very easy product to use; it's more of a cream than a liquid. I used maybe an ounce or perhaps a little less on my Miata...

OK, how about Moose Wax and Carnuba Moose?

First, what's the diff? Is one synthetic, and the other natural or blend? And, are they cleaner waxes, or pure waxes? What is their relation to Vanilla Moose, which no longer seems to be vanilla (or vanilla scented, anyhow)? The website claims you can use Moose Wax on vinyl upholstery... has...

How would you classify the following products?

I'm puttering in the garage, and organizing my cabinets according to what does what (rather than by brand, or color, or size, etc; you're an Autopian, you know what I mean). They all call themselves "polish with wax", "wax with glaze", etc. Would you call them polishes, waxes, cleaner waxes...

    A PB product I rally LIKE; S&W

This stuff is so cool. It's stronger than a QD, less strong than washing. For those "dirty but not dirty enough to break out the buckets" situations, this product just can't be beat. I couls use another gallon of this stuff, really. Tom
