    Has WG lost popularity?

I haven't seen much discussion of WG lately. To be honest, I haven't given it much of a chance. I used it once and it was extremely easy, but didn't seem to be very durable. But to make a fair judgement I need some more experience with WG. Just seems like the excitment over WG has...

Vac power - Amps vs HP?

I presently have a 3.0 hp/3 gal Wet/Dry Craftsman Vac, but am looking for more power. I looked at the 5.0 hp/4 gallon Rigid model at Home Depot today, also I seen a 5.0 hp/12 gallon model. The 4 gal model was rated at 9 amps while the 12 gallon model was rated at 12 amps. Which is more...

Done with sealants ... going back "old skool"

I recently tried the latest rave … the WG twins. In fairness, I didn’t do the best job in prepping due to time limitations, but the final outcome was still fairly impressive and I think I have a good idea of what the WG twins look like now. As good as WG looks, being a fan of...

Anyone use AIO + WG sealant?

I used the WG twins today for the first time. Didn't even prep my truck as well as I wanted to due to time limitations, but I'm still very pleased with the final results. Can't believe how easy WG sealant is to remove! The WG pre cleaner was a little tougher, but not exactly a PITA. I was...

    Stained driveway?

A customer recently mentioned (not complaining) that they noticed their driveway stained shortly after my detailing session. I'm not sure what I used that would stain a driveway. My best guess, if I'm the culprit, is a wheel cleaner, but I'm not sure which I used that day. Probably A2Z or...

Is there much difference in foam PC pads?

I haven't seen much of a difference in terms of "cutting ability" while using Meg's pro polishes. Been using 7.5" LC pads and switching from white to yellow doesn't seem make any significant change. While using #80, 81,82, or 83 does pad selection make much of a difference?

Detailing Suburbans and Excursions/Expeditions ... not so bad!

Last weekend I detailed a Ford Expedition and the yesterday it was a Chevy Suburban. I thought they were going to be real tough, but once you finish the roof ... you're home free. Sure there's a lot of "real estate" to cover, but there's also a lot of PC friendly flat surfaces and bending...

    Self satisfaction in detailing

Anyone else shares my problem? In the last year or so my skills have increased significantly, but now I want to "knock it out of the park" every time at bat. After investing the better part of a day using my best products I want to be awed. When it doesn't happen I feel let down even though...

NXT tech protectant ... good & bad!

NXT tech protectant is very thick, sticky, and greasy. I wouldn't even consider wiping it on my dash, but I think it's great for exterior trim and gives great coverage on tires. In summary, NXT for interiors:down NXT for exterior trim and tires :up

What's the most amount of time you've spent detailed a car (exterior) for hire?

I recently detailed a slightly oxyzided Lincoln. Polishing, glazing, and waxing took me 5 hours, which I believe is pretty close to the norm. But, I was thinking if I had to "step down" while polishing it could have taken 7+ hours. What's the most time you spent detailing 1 car's exterior?

Ever had problems with #82 SFP being sticky?

I used SFP today and it was tougher than usual to buff off after working with my PC. Anyone have problems with #82 being sticky and hard to buff off? Perhaps I used too much, or didn't work it long enough. Never had a problem like this with SFP before:nixweiss

How do you deal with bug damage?

I've detailed two cars this weekend that had bug markings on the front grille and gravel pans. I tried everything to minimize it with no success. I tried 3M tar and wax remover to insure no caucuses were left then hit it with DACP and a cutting pad. All I managed to accomplish was to make...

Direct sun products and CMW's performance in the sun

It seems most of my jobs lately have been in the sun or in the partial sun, e.g. carports that don't provide shade at certain parts of the day. Sooooooo ... I'm beefing up my products for sun use. Plan to order PB's PP and EX-P (presently own PwC and EX). Also, I've read CMW is a product...
