Looking for topper for SQ on Met. Blue

Next week I'm giving my car the full treatment. I think I wanna do AIO/SG but am looking for a topper to use with it. I know SG makes the metallic blue really pop so I want to use a LSP that will enhance the look. I've thought about S100 but it seems to dull it down a little. Any suggestions...

    Topping Wolfgang with S100?

I called up the local Harley shop today and asked about S100. The guy said they did have it in stock so I had him check the price. He comes back on the line and says "$8.95." "Really" I say. "Yup, 8.95." So I'm going down there tomorrow to see if he told me th truth. If so I'll be buying a few...

Finally bought a shop vac for mobile business

I broke down and bought a lightweight portable shop vac today. Got the Rigid WD4050. It's a small 4-gallon, 5 horsepower wet/dry unit, part of their "Professional" line. I tried it out this afternoon and have to say, I'm pleased. I used woolite mix on my floor mat and it sucked up the vast...

Need to update inventory for mobile business, need suggestions

I'm in the planning stages of starting a small mobile detailing business this spring. Today, I pulled out all my products from the closet and realized I need to get a "shopping list" together. I was hoping to get some suggestions on what to add to my arsenal. Here's most of what I already have...

    Mobile Detailing Logo

Since I'll most likely be starting a registered business doing mobile detailing this spring, I thought it would be a good idea to throw together a logo to put on business cards, flyers, etc. I had a friend and co-worker design one for me which looked nice, but was a little too generic. Here's...

    Thinking of Taking the Plunge

Well, my mind is made up. I'm gonna start doing some mobile detailing come spring. I have several people at work asking for details right now and I'm gonna try to get around to them before cold weather hits. I did a co-worker's 2000 Pheonix Yellow Integra Type R and he was extremely pleased with...

    Meguiar's Distrubutor/Warehouse in Nashville?

I have read posts in which some members say they have visited a Meguiar's warehouse or distrubutor in the Nashville,TN area. I have searched google and the phone book to try to find this place, and came up with a few different locations. The one I believe to be the correct location is in...

Pads with large diameter velcro backing?

I have used my PC a bout half a dozen times since I first got it. I ordered the PC/Pad combo from Detailer's Paradise. I have 3 polishing pads that are starting to deteriorate rapidly. The urethane backing plate and the velcro backing on the pad are exactly the same diameter causing the edge of...

I'll be detailing a co-worker's 2000 Integra Type-R next Thursday. Plan as follows: QEW Wash Clay 1z 1Z PP 1x AIO 1x SG Basic engine bay wipe-down Wonder how that combo will look on yellow paint? I told him $100 for the exterior and around $30 for the engine. How does that price...

    Grind Calipers Smooth Before Paint?

I'm planning on painting my calipers soon. I had the wheel off today cleaning the inside of the rim and inspected the brake calipers. They have a very rough texture with sharp edges and irregular sufraces. I took the dremel to a tiny area to see how they reacted to smoothing. I noticed that the...

    First Pics of WG Twins

I finally got around to trying 1Z PP and the WG Twins. I had some swirls on the hood and a good deal of spider-webbing. The 1Z worked great for clearing most of it up. WG looks nice, too and was super easy to apply and remove. Wish the pic was a little better, but at least you can see the...

1Z + Wolfgang + Few Weeks of Dirt

I washed my car today. A few weeks ago I detailed it almost completely. I used the PC and 1Z PP, then the WG Twins. I haven't had a chance to wash in about two weeks, but have QD'ed a few times. Here's the result. I didn't quite get all the swirls out the first time with the PC and 1Z, so I'll...

    Pocket-Sized Detailing Kit (pic)

I ordered a PC/ 1Z combo kit from Nick @ Detailers Paradise and didn't realize that they throw in a small 2 oz plastic bottle with every 1Z polish. I ordered 5 additional bottles, making a total of 9. I filled the first four with 1Z UP, PP, MP, and EP. Poured WG kit into 3 more and finally NXT...

First experience with PC and 1Z, mixed results

Well, the bug finally bit me today. I have the day off and I was determined to try out the new PC and 1Z products. Went to work on my Lapis Blue Metallic Mazda6 to remove some swirls/marring. Here's my process with a DP orange pad and 1z PP. 1) Mist pad with water 2) Apply polish directly to...

Reviving 16 year old single-stage paint?

Since I got my Mazda6, my Dad is now using my old '88 S10 as a work truck. The paint is in desperate need of some TLC as it is oxidized and looks dull. I used to detail it, but now that he's using it I haven't had the chance. My process usually included claying and then applying either Mothers...
