NXT and new TW tried today.

Went to Wallyworld and purchased the new Turtle Wax Ultragloss liquid wax and to Advanced Auto and bought NXT. Did 3 Honda CRV's, silver & dark green and Milano red. Here's my quick take... Turtle wax Ultra Gloss, not bad at all for around $8.00. Went on really easy and came off just as...

    First realy cleanup after winter!

Finally, most snow is gone and streets are dry. Spent a good chunk of the day with Vanilla Moose glaze and Pinnacle Souveran wax. Wow, only 2 more CRVs, a black Prelude and a Vette to go and I'll be ready to face the detailing season!

    Clearkote opinion

I have been really pleased with Vanilla Moose and Clearkote's carnuba wax, so I posted on another forum telling them how pleased I was with the products and asking who had used the products. One reply I got was: "never tried as I have heard they are mediocure at best. Have used Mequire Glaze...

    Can I change my mind?

When I first got my Pinnacle Souveran wax, I posted here that I was not that impressed and planned on going back to my Zaino. Since I had the stuff, I figured I've just go ahead and use it up on my three Honda CRV's and my son's Prelude. The more I've used it, the happier I've become with the...

    Wheel Wooley

I've been trying for a couple of years to find a replacement for my wheel brush. It's called a Wheel Wooley and is a plastic handle with a tapered wool cover. This brush has been perfect for my black painted wheels on my Vette and CRV. Every other brush I've seen has nylon bristles that I'm...

    Prelude hit by Moose!

Just tried out my recently received Vanilla Moose glaze and Pinnacle Souveran wax. I painted the Prelude in my garage this summer and had put on a coat of Z-5 but always wanted to try the VM. Overall, I'm pretty darned pleased with the results.

    100% Cotton Towels at WM?

I tried searching but couldn't find the brand of towels someone mentioned at WalMart that are true 100% cotton. I have tons of Fieldcrest Charisma towels but they are getting old. Now that Fieldcrest and their website are gone I'm kind of lost for a source. I use mostly MF and DF towels now...

    Pinnacle VS Zaino

For a couple of years I've wanted to try Pinnacle Souveran carnuba to compare it to Zaino polish (have been using Z for about 4 years or so). I finally broke down and spent $60.00 for the Pinnacle. I waxed my '92 dark red metallic Vette, my Milano Red '99 CRV and my son's black '93 Prelude...

Kids, don't try this at home! Lude Rolls!

The Phoenix has risin again! OMG, tomorrow is my son's first day of school and we finished the Prelude today so he could drive! After 2 1/2 months in a 100 degree hot garage, my brother's death and several other minor crisis, we finally made it. I promise I will never attempt a complete...

Help on filling holes in rubber bumper!

I need to fill the two 1/4" holes smack in the center of my son's '93 Predule front bumper. The bumper is rubber and I don''t know for sure what to use that will be flexible and workable enough to sand. Any ideas?

I'm Back - Still at it!

After an extended time away due to family crisis, I'm back at it again. It's good to see some of the old timers still here. In case no one remembers, I'm the guy who fixed up his son's tired Black '93 Prelude. Well, latest project is a complete repaint of the Lude, straight black this time...

    Yet another dealer rant...(long)

In January 2001, my wifes '98 Dodge Caravan lost it's transmission. First off, the local Dodge dealer did not want to honor the warranty because the vehicle was 3 weeks outside of the normal time warranty. They informed us of this after they mis-diagnosed the problem as a locked-up engine...

    3 more days...

Only 3 more days til my son turns 16 and will get to solo in his pride and joy. Just got the new muffler installed that he wanted for his birthday and got it all Z'd and it's sitting in the garage with the car cover on it waiting for Thursday. Man, does this bring back memories of when I was a...

By Jove, I think he's got it!

My 15 year old son ordered some parts for his '93 Prelude VTEC on the net and I figured I'd be in for some work. I was busy painting in the house and didn't hear from him a while so I checked and he had installed his clear corner lights, new Honda emblems, air intake and upper strut bar brace...

You got me on that one!

I was out on the driveway buffing off a coat of Z-5 on the Prelude when my neighbor from across the street and a couple houses down came over (he hadn't done this for at least 5 years). His sole mission was to tell me that he would never have to do "all that work" to his black '99 Lexus he just...

    Wheel Wooley!

For several years, I've been using wheel brushes that I got from Advanced Auto parts stores called a Wooley Wheel Brush. The things are a plastic handle with a tapered wool covering that did a great job of not scratching the black paint on my Corvette's Grand Sport wheels. All the new wheel...

    A Grave Situation!

After the Memorial Day cleanup, my son and I decided to snap a few pics of the Prelude.....

    The day off

My neighbors all sat around the grill and drank beer and watched me detail the Jeep. I could hear them snicker about how "the neighbor doesn't do anything but wax his cars". At least tomorrow I'll have a clean car and no headache.

    It's too small!

Here's why I put more miles on my cars backing them in and out of the garage working on them than I do on the highway! 19' wide X 21' deep. Sigh, wife loves the house and neighborhood covenants won't let me change a thing. I'm waiting for the city bus company to go out of business, then I'm...
