With winter coming I'm looking for ways to protect my car from damage from salt ,cinders and all the other crap they use on the roads around here. Do those plastic hood protectors do anything other than keeping the leading edge of the hood from getting damaged? Are they worth the trouble?

Have you dropped your landline and gone totally cellular? I can't think of any reason to keep my landline phone but I wonder if those who have made the switch have run into any unexpected problems. Seems like the only calls I receive are from tele-marketers and I'm paying $45 a month for nothing.

I bought " ZEP shower, bath and tile cleaner" at Home Depot about $8 a gallon. A few sprays on a dirty pad or applicator, squeeze and rinse. This works as well as any product I've tried for pad cleaning.

My normal winter protection is 476 topped with OCW. I find that the look of 476 is ok but not great but the protection is unbeatable. The OCW makes it look better than 845 alone. Most of the time I let 476 cure for a day before I put on the OCW but if I'm pressed for time I'll buff off the 476...
