    Menzerna IP Question

I just finished using Menzerna FP II as my final prep step and to say I'm impressed with this product is an understatement! It redefines the term "user friendly"! For those who have used both FP and IP, is IP as easy and effective to use as FP?

    Clay Lube Questions

Hi Folks For those of you that use water as a lubricant when claying, do you use just plain water or a car wash solution? Do you feel water is as good a lube as any of the quick detailers? Cheers

    Using wet PC pads?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm wondering if it's OK to use a wet/damp pad for applying polish (might depend on the polish, I guess)? Or should you let it dry? I'm thinking about a situation where the pad gets clogged, you wash it, squeeze the excess water out of it and...

To Haze or Not to Haze

Hope I'm posting in the right forum. :) , but does anyone know why some carnuaba-based waxes are required to "haze" before buffing and others are promoted as WOWO? Is it just a matter of perceived convenience (mass market acceptability) or is there really a difference

Sheepskin Wash Mitts and Black Cars?

Hi Folks Just finished doing a search on wash mitts and the concensus on the board seems to be genuine sheepskin. I've been using a 100% cotton mitt for years and one reason I've stuck with it is that it's easy to clean thoroughly in the washing machine. Anyway I'm planning on giving my...

DACP vs. 3M Perfect-It III RC

For those who have experience with both, which would you say is more aggressive? And, is it necessary to work RC until it dusts, like DACP? (Hopefully the Accumulator will chime in :) ). Thanks.

    Question Griot's Foam Pads

Hi Folks I wondering if anyone would know how to classify Griot's Orange D/A Foam Pad? Is it a polishing pad, cutting pad, or somewhere in between? Thanks :up

    What makes microfiber "better"?

Hi Folks I posted this question yesterday. I came to check it today and it's dissappeared! So here goes again. What exactly is it about (synthetic) microfiber that makes it better for polishing than conventional 100% cotton terry towel? 1. Is it that microfiber is...

How to remove or hide polish residue on side moulding?

Hi Folks My black Subaru was in the body shop recently and they've left me some nice "presents" to deal with. Besides swirls and other marks, they left polish residue on the foam backing for the side door mouldings (of course they didn't mask it off!!) So now I have a nice white line along...

    Meguiar's #80

Recently I've been reading a lot of positive comments about Meg's #80. Am I correct in thinking that #80 is essentially an "all in one" product, which removes swirls and other marring and leaves a glazed finish ready for topping (if desired), without any other polishing steps required? Thanks!

Question about 3M Perfect-It III Machine Glaze

I'm wondering if it's necessary or preferable to follow up 3M's Perfect-It III Machine Glaze with a milder polish or does it produce such a good finish that you can go directly to a topper (carnuaba or whatever)? Thanks!

    Black Car and Meg's #82

Hi Folks I know this has probably been covered 1000 times, but please humour me! To get the BEST finish, what would I need to follow #82 with on my BLACK Subaru, or could I just get on with it with AIO and a topper? Many thanks!

    Meg's #82 vs. 3M Perfect-It III Machine Glaze

Hi Folks Does anyone have the experience of using both these products? Which do you prefer and why? Do they have about the same level of abrasion? I'm looking to remove moderate swirls on a BLACK car. Thanks!

What makes a foam pad "aggressive"?

Hi Guys I'm hoping someone can explain what exactly makes one foam pad more "aggressive" than another? I assume that a more aggressive pad will create more friction between itself and the paint but is it the cell structure or maybe the "stiffness" of the foam or something else that does...

    Pad descriptions

Hi All I'm wondering when someone says "I used product X with a yellow pad and then I used product Y with a white pad" and so on, are they talking about a specific manufacturer or is there some kind of universal colour code for pads? Thanks! John

Question about "The Perfect Shine" process

Hi Folks I've read two slightly different versions of "The Perfect Shine" process. There's the current one on bettercarcare.com (http://www.bettercarcare.com/articles.php?articleId=28) where David recommends P21s products and an older? one on this board...

    Meguiar's G-100 DA Polisher

Sorry if this has been asked and answered many times, but I did a search and couldn't find a definitive answer. Is there a difference between a "dual action" and an "orbital" buffer or are they the same thing? In particular, I'm wondering about the Meguiar's G-100 "dual action" polisher...

Hi All I'm wondering if you top AIO directly (no SG) with a carnuaba, does the AIO need time to cure before applying the wax? Thanks!
