    Eminem retiring?

Here's a thread that probably no one (myself included) on Autopia cares about. Link Eminem to retire eh? I'm guessing it's not really about producing. Hell IMO he has single handedly ruined all the posthumous Tupac releases as of late with HORRIBLE beats, and awful guest rappers. I think the...

    A/C Question.

My A/C clutch fried today. Pretty sure that's what it was. No cooling at first, then clutch started smoking profusely, but system started to cool. That leads me to believe the compressor is still functional, but the clutch is dead. This is a '95 GMC Sierra with a 350 5.7, R134a system...

    Washing behind wheels.

There's probably a thread on this, but I am having some problems with the search engine today. I am looking for techniques on washing the back side of wheels. It seems that these days the clearance between rotors and wheels is so small that trying to get a brush in there is quite difficult...

    U.S. to resume Plutonium prod.

Interesting. I always wonder what the government is REALLY up to when they talk in such cryptic terms. Link

    Blues Traveler

This is a lame thread, but the new Busch beer commercial on the radio has made me love a song again. I already thought "The Mountains Win Again" by Blues Traveler was a great song, but forgot about it over the years. Hearing it on the commercial for this awful beer has made me break out my...

    Applying AIO via PC.

I know there has been some discussion on this, but I don't recall seeing a process or definitive answer on the forums. When you apply AIO with the PC how should it be done? I know the key is small amounts on the paint, but when trying that with a pad if you are buffing with a dry pad you will...

    Painting my house.

So, I've finished the prep work for the painting of my house. Replaced all rotten wood, caulked like there is no tomorrow. I was contemplating using a Wagner product to speed things up, but then read nothing but horrible reviews on all the things they make. Should have known. Anyway, anyone...

    Liquid Glass

I was in Sears Hardware the other day and they had this stuff called Liquid Glass. Comes in a metal can, and sounds like technology developed around the time of the atom bomb. Anyway, anyone ever heard of this or used it? The instructions sounded scary. You had to remove it with 0000 steel...

    BMW detail.

I am going to detail a Z3 tomorrow, and wondered if there is anything special I need to know about BMWs. I haven't detailed a car of this caliber yet (not that Beemers are rare or anything), but just want to make sure I do it right. Silver/Black interior. Plan of attack: Wash Clay...

    Different manufacturer's paint.

Is there any resource that describes the processes that different manufacturers use to paint their vehicles? I ask this because I would like to know exactly what I'm dealing with when I step up to a car to begin working on it. I may be doing a Z3 soon and was wondering if BMW paint has any...

    #4

Sorry if there is a thread on this already, but it is nearly impossible to search for "#4" as a search term. Anyway, my local NAPA does not sell #80 or #83, but they do sell #4. Is this for use with a rotary only? Can I use it with PC, or is it too harsh. If it is OK for PC use, then what is...

    First paid detail.

I detailed my mother in law's '03 Explorer today. It was fairly dirty, but paint in pretty good shape overall. My father in law keeps his rides washed regularly, but thinks that Meguiar's Cleaner Wax is the end all be all of paint care. Anyway, the process was: 2 bucket wash with Blue...

    Clearcoat failure?

My '95 GMC Sierra has something strange going on. I was using SSR 2.5 with the PC today, and I noticed small white dots in several places. When I scratched at one of them it appears as if the clearcoat popped off in the area that was white. Is this the beginning of the end for my clearcoat...

    SSR2.5 not enough?

Or what am I doing wrong? I have used probably almost an eighth of the bottle of 2.5 and I am not even done with the hood. I am using a yellow Propel pad with PC on about 3.5 - 4.5, working 2x2 area, and applying some light pressure. These are my results so far, but it is painfully slow. It...

    How much SSR2.5?

So I finally cranked up the PC and the SSR2.5. It seems that my combo might not be aggressive enough, or that I am not using enough product. How much do you put on the pad itself? Should the pad be pretty evenly covered with product after the first pass? I don't want to use up the whole...

    Scents for cars.

I don't see any discussion of scent products for cars on this website. Is it generally frowned upon to use them by Autopians or what? I am just kind of wondering if anyone out there uses anything that is really good in this area. I like a faint vanilla smell in my ride personally.

    Meguiar's combo vs. Klasse

I know that the Klasse twins are held in very high regard on this forum, and I am thinking of ordering them. However, is there a Meguiar's professional combo that is just as good, but perhaps cheaper? I know some of the professional line is available here at a NAPA parts store near me, and I...

    World resources.

Story here. Duh! The human race will only make it worse too. People always say it won't happen in my lifetime so why worry, but what about our kids, and their kids. I personally think that like George Carlin said when the earth gets tired of us it will shake us off like a bad case of...

    Meguiar's Hot Rims.

Any opinions on this stuff. I bought some and used it today. Thought it worked pretty well, then I notice it says dont' get it on brake calipers, rotors, etc. It's a wheel cleaner! What the hell? You'd have to spray pretty carefully to avoid that.
