3M SMR placement with mock scenario

Okay, I know we've all discussed the fact that SMR only "hides" defects, but in some cases this is all some of us are wanting to do. That said, I'd like to give you a scenario and see where some of you would place SMR. Let's say that you are getting ready to detail a fairly new bc/cc black...

    Scratch X info

I bought some Scratch-X today to add to my arsenal but now I'm not really sure I want to keep it. I just read in another thread that it hides scratches, no get rid of them and they will return after a wash or two. Is this true? Is Scratch-X nothing more than a glorified glaze? Some good info on...

    Wet Sanding - 3M or 1Z afterwards?

I'm getting ready to repair a couple chips and nicks in my paint, and read the how-to article on BetterCarCare.com and he recommends using 3M Perfect It Rubbing Compound and 3M Perfect It Swirl Remover as a follow up from the wet sanding. Is this necessary or will my 1Z UPP and PP be sufficient?

    Wet sanding instructions

Okay, I'd like to start a discussion on wet sanding. This is a method that is used by a few and feared by most. I am looking into it because I recently had to get a corner of my rear bumper touched up after a little mishap with my own gate and it now has a little orange peel that it never had...

Melted rubber on my race car, how do I get it off?

Hey guys, I have a race car and after a day at the track I end up with all kinds of burnt up rubber behind my rear wheels. As soon as I got home, I tried washing it off just using normal car wash soap and a soft terry cloth towel. This got all the loose pieces of rubber off easily but left...
