    My microfiber has gone...stale

Well, I washed them, double rinse, and a cup o white vinegar in the last rinse but they're just not the same. They look to be in new condition, but they are not. It's like they're dried out, my waffle weave especially :( They're all pakshaks, save for two viper's and a few wallymarts...

    A Zaino question...

What happens if you use microfiber? I just want to know the reason behind this. Maybe I should call him. :o And if they're not made in the USA does the sealant and Car know? Is it ok to use Zaino on my Japanese car? Is it ok to use Pakshak towels on it because those aren't made in Japan...

    Poorboys SSR2.5

Poorboy's Super Swirl Mark Remover SSR2.5 When you pour SSR2.5 out of the bottle one thing you will notice is that it is thicker then Meguiars #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish. SSR2.5 has the consistancy of, well, cake frosting I suppose. This thickness causes it to spread a little less...

    Clay doesn't remove wax?

Hm. I clayed my car, then rinsed it (it was beading so well, i figured why dry it and start over)...anyway. To my surprise, it beaded up just as well as it did before I clayed. :o Not a huge problem. But I did have EX-P, Blackfire x2, and #16 x 2 on there so maybe it's just holding up...

    2nd gen red Eclipse GSX

Mike did the touch up and the work on the hood/front bumper. This was a: Clay Meguiars Single Action Polish with some cleaning (see my thread in products review thread). Meguiars markets it as DACP Wolfgang Pre-Cleaner Meguiars NXT via PC/black pad @ speed 4 Meguiars #16 to top...

    Meguiars SAP?

Single Action Polish? I did a second generation red Eclipse today. Used DACP and noticed that only a slighty coloration of the pad. Used Wolfgang Pre-Cleaner and noticed that the pad turned very red. :nixweiss Why does Meguiars even bother to label it as Dual CLEANER polish...

Wetsanding, one direction, or all directions?

Now, I've been taught, and this was for removing chips, to go in all directions. up down left right diagonals and so forth. But on Meguiars website it says go in one direction. This confuses me. :nixweiss

Whoevers hand it was in the Meguiars QD commercial...

Well, FIRE THEM! Clearly they used circles when buffing the QD. Also, was that a polyester towel I was looking at? Mike Phillips, you need to get on top of these people! :p I'm kidding!

Is SSR2.5 worth the $12 if I have DACP already?

As the title asks. I am going to re-do my car soon, and of course my birthday is coming up, so this means I get to do a little shopping. Key differences among the two? I'd like to go try Klasse AIO and SG. :) (I'm going to "borrow" some of TPGSR's SG and get some AIO. I'd say it's his...

#16 on windows beats out anything else I have used...

:) When I applied #16 about a month and a half ago to my car, I decided to put it on the windows. Hey, it provides a clear finish on paint--it should on windows. Well, it was one of my best ideas yet. It's still beads just like it is on the paint. The windows stay cleaner longer. The...

I find it ironic that I like #16 more then NXT

:o I'm just overall more impressed with the old school baby-blue crayon then I am with the schnazzily packaged "new technology" NXT. Why is it that people think synthetics are, by default, more durable then carnauba and carnauba blend waxes? I'm getting the best durability out of anything...

    350Z, A8, Ferrari... (56k warning)

It's been so long since we did the 350Z. I think we did clay, DACP, wolfgang pre-polish and Blackfire sealant (oh, we did this at my house and it was from 12am-6am...i got to make decisions!). I think Mike was surprised that Blackfire is only slightly less easy to use then the Wolf (he did...

5 star shine fails to impress...

Of course, this isn't a enthusiast detailer but what it sounds like is that 5 star shine is a mediocre sealant, packaged in a little bottle, marketted like it's the best thing since artifically made syrup, and has a jacked up price. :( It makes me want to send the poor guy some Vanilla...

    Longest you have detailed for?

Without falling asleep? Me and Tpgsr went 22 hours (we had a few 10 minute breaks and a 2 hour or so break between cars). :o Am I an autopian? :nixweiss edit: maybe it was more like 18-20? I don't know, i'm confused now. Still, too long. :p

Autofiber towels versus Pakshak towels: what say you?

I personally give the edge to Pakshak. They seem a bit thicker (especially going super plush yellow vs super plush yellow final buff towels) and a touch softer. Any of you have experience with both? ;)

Do synthetics really "bond" to paint?

Like the question says, do synthetic polymers like Zaino and acrylics like Klasse SG really "bond" to the paint? Is there any chemical reaction to cause this? Or is this just bad wording?

What's *your* favorite thing on silver?

:) Just like the title says, what do you like to use on silver and what properties does it give it? Reflective, or does it make the metallic stand out? Pictures would be good if you have them, too. :)
