    whats up from austin

Hey autopians, just wanting to gage where some of our products stand. The only physical assumption is that all cd's have the same harndess (which might not be the case) but since they're mass produced it shouldn't be that different. in any case try to use an old AOL, MSN, etc CD Test...

darbh, you beat me to the usual, try something new post that I try to put out every once in awhile I work in a lab and we use a product called Sparkleen to clean our glassware and lab equipment. It claims to leave no residue in the hardest water. Wonder what it would do to the big Z and K...

    Tips for the mobile detailer!

If you check out this month's Men's Health Magizine (one day I'll get to the gym :)) there's a tip that was give by none other than our own DavidB saying to protect your leather interior and to blot (not wipe) vomit off your car seat.

Please use a turn signal :)

ever hit a four way stop and the person (who got there slightly before you did) directly across from you wants to make a left (passing infront of you) while you want to go straight, and that person doesn't put on his/her turn signal. I love this situation because I have no reason to belive...

    Caswell Products

Okay, who uses their opposite writing hand to detail (at least some of the time) cause why should one arm get all the work course using someone else's arm is even better. I've trained my left hand to use the mouse, still not as good, but getting there. BTW, have you used the foaming dispenser...

How Often Do You Clay Bar Your Personal Vehicle?

I would like for us as an autopian community to yes and no certain dressings as far as browning is concerned. It is typical that both silicone and petrolium distillated type products may aid in browning tires. Let's go over the facts first: Many use tire dressing frequently and do not see any...

    Happy Birthday Husker Z!

Some of you may know that my brother is in a up and coming band. Having just released their album, I noticed a song on in that just gave me the chills when I heard it, amongst the recent turn of events. You cand read the lyrics and mp3. Most of the world might not hear this song, originially...

Time to step up to a rotary

I'm really psyched to try the new "fast acting" Dawn. It's still the blue kind but its concentrated. I like the new clear bottle with the flip top, pretty cool. (probably just marketing)

What Age Group Has the Most Detailers???

There are some people on this forum that have gone out of their way to get Klasse. I highly applaud them for their leap of faith. The problem is, some of them do not see the same results as many of us do. That is it may not have worked or it looked okay, and so i'm going back to turtle wax...

    Meg's 105 and 205 questions

I detailed a horribly kept Saturn over the weekend (paid). My new vac got it's work out on about a full cup of dirt, debris, and cat litter (eech). The vac works great BTW. I wiped down all the vinyl plastic and weather stripping with rubbing alcohol (looked clean and disinfects too)...

Thanksgiving Detail, 2009 GMC All Terrain

In an effort to better understand what exactly happens when I apply AIO in multiple work ins, I have a question. First off, notice I use the phrase, "work in." When I use AIO (on lets say an older car) there's a difference in applyin a layer to a panel and working in a layer in the same...

    UV Protection for Leather

We all now that this is important. We all now that UV will tear your car, and your leather apart. I looked on the Lexol bottle and it doesn't protect against UV. Am I supposed to follow up with 303 (I assume it has some UV protection) or my favorite stuff. Here's the inspiration for...

    EAS: Bentley Correction

Okay, many of you know that I like this stuff. Sure it's a "designers imposter" but I like it. Black Magic semi-gloss dashboard protectant and again it's not the greasy oily, all in one shine, or their waterless formula armor all looking crap. It is so totally different. It has that other...

LC CCS Orange Pad hops and jumps like crazy...

You might never wash your car the way you normally do, again. I know this is extra long, but I wanted to be super specific and show pictures, and I’m excited because I was completely happy with my refined detailing method, but was never happy with my same old ineffective washing method...

    What happened to my floormats?

According to Ron (from his site): If you don't have clearcoated leather use a cleaner with "feeding oils" [such as lexol and the other hide oil feeder stuff] And if you're leather is clearcoated [which it probably is] we are to use a waterborne polymer style dressing, let it dry and then...

    Hello from MS

Who inspects their sponges and mitts when washing their cars? Last night I was almost going to take a comb and comb out any particles in my mitt. I pulled out little pieces in the sponge that I use. There's got to be a better way.
