    Tropicare orange cutting pad...

I have an 11k RO sander and I've played around with the TC orange pad. This pad is made by LC and is a great all purpose pad. I've used it with ZPC on navy blue mettallic to remove hollogramming and it left a nice enough finish (without hazing) to go staight to my LSP. 2 thumbs up.

    Z2pro tweaked?

Has Z2pro been tweaked? I had a small sample I got from a member and it was thick and pink and a bit difficult to apply thinly. I recently got an 8 ounce bottle of Z2pro and it was thinner-more like Z5pro consistancy. It also seemed to apply easier(even though I only did a small panel. Has...

    Tropicare Non silicone dressing...

a applied some of this to the rubber edges of my T tops. Some smeared onto the glass. After drying I noticed this. I attempted to remove it with glass cleaner. It didn't come off. This is some pretty durable stuff. I'll have to try something a bit stronger.

what SSR is ZPC closest to cut wise?

    Tropicare orange cutting pad...

This is made by Lake Country so I am assuming it's basically the same as their other orange pads. It is a light cutting/firm polishing pad. With a mild polish such as Mothers Powerpolish it leaves a LSP ready surface. With a more aggressive polish/compound it should remove more difficult swirls...

the flip side of orange peel...

We all know that there isn't anything nicer than a show car with smooth as glass paint and 3-5 coats of clear. But, assembly line paint jobs always have some orange peel, some worse than others. Is this neccessarily a bad thing? If your car's orange peel looks like hail damage I'd say that's bad...

    Viking MF mitt...

I picked one of these up at Autozone for $2.99. It is nice and thick. It seems to clean the surface well, holds lots of soapy water and rinses out pretty well. I have some looped MF mitts and like the Viking mitt much better. I'm considering retiring the sheepskin and using the viking mitts. At...

It seems to me this product has a bit of a sheeting action to it. Is that so or is it our hard water?

    Duragloss 111 test...

David B's sample test thread got me thinking. So I grabbed a piece of plexiglass and applied some Duragloss 111 sealant without the polish bonding agent. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and wiped it off. I then allowed it to cure for about 30 minutes. I washed the panel with Fantastick several...

    swirls have you discouraged?

don't feel bad. In fact feel really good about your detailing. Even the worst beginners take heart. I was watching a local car show on tv and they showed the rarest Shelby AC Cobra in existance. It was 1 of 2, 427 twin supercharged 800+ hp Cobras. This one was originally owned by Carol Shelby...

    Z5Pro question...

First of all let me publically thank Zane for sending me 2 ounces of Z5Pro. Are the fillers that are in Z5Pro permanent or will they wash away? I hope to use this soon on my NMB WS6 but have been battling back issues since Easter.

    acryllic vs cross linking poymer...

maybe David B can chime in. What are the advantages/ disagvantages of each system? The only thing I've read is that some manufacturers claim that acryllic can a bit brittle. I know that manufacturers claim that polymers can penetrate the pores of the paint-can acryllic do the same?

    Duragloss Leather conditioner....

figured what the heck, so I picked up the duragloss leather conditioner to try. I applied it 3 times to some fairly stiff leather in my TA and it did soften the leather. I also used it on my moms leather car seats. It soaks in and leaves a natural, non greasy finish. Overall I'd say it's a...

    testing durability...

I think I figured a way to test durability. I applied two products to a piece of rough plastic. One was a full synthetic the other was a blend. I allowed them to cure for about an hour. I took the plastic and sprayed it with 409, wiped it around to simulate a wash and rinsed. I did this 5 times...

    Duragloss Aquawax...

I picked up a bottle today and tried it on a panel on our pewter van. I sprayed it directly on the panel and did a WOWO. It producted a very nice glossy shine with good depth, sharp reflections, great metallic pop and a slick surface. I applied it over 5 month old collinite 845. At $8 for 22...

QEW as a spray and wipe ....

I've mixed up some QEW in a QD bottle-an ounce or two per bottle and use it for bird bombs. It seems to work fairly well. I haven't noticed any micromarring. I let it sit for a few seconds before wiping it. The soap content must be fairly strong as it dissolves bird bombs pretty effectively...

99 plus percent optically clear like Z2Pro? The reason I ask is it seems to have a darker, less reflective look then Z2Pro.
